I know he did change certain things, but for the most part it's a reuse of an old sculpt. Personally I don't see the added $100 value despite how good it looks. I also know John isn't in this business just to make money and profit, that's been known for a while now. However it seems to me that he didn't expect his first project to take off like that and he saw how many people wanted his V1 sculpt after it sold out so he decided to reuse it. Then adding that extra $100 makes it seem like he's trying to profit off of the people that missed out on his V1.

I could be wrong though, these are just my assumptions. I don't talk to John so I don't know him personally like you do.

Who in their right mind would buy a sculpt for $500? That's pretty insane. I wouldn't buy anything of Ambrosial anymore just because of the fact he sold his sculpt to Hot Toys, which is completely ruined now. There's nothing unique about it anymore, I'd be pissed if I had done custom work on it.

I kinda want that Heise interrogation sculpt. Heck, I just want a good sculpt by Heise.

I'm second guessing the SeeArt sculpt. Not because I don't like it. But nothing I've seen has matched that first prototype that sold me.

I don't want to drop a grand on something I have doubts about.

My excitement for that sculpt has dwindled I won't lie, but I know I'll be satisfied once I have it in hand.

Then it's best to try and sell your spot. Once finished, it will be harder to resell and most likely at a loss.

You’re right, most likely will be sold out by the time Heise is ready. Would be a shame to miss it, especially if it turns out good.

Sigh.. and I thought I was done with Ledger sculpts.

Yeah I went ahead and purchased mine through PayPal G&S.

Teeth sculpts don’t come around too often, that paired with the low eyelids was too unique to miss out on. Had I committed to any of the others I wouldn’t have jumped as quickly. For me, patience really paid off here.

When he told me about those reasons I told him why I thought it was a bad idea and was honest to him, I even explained how it could be perceived the wrong way which is totally fair.
I understand why you would assume that, and that's what I told him yesterday.
I think he realised it was a mistake to put that price tag on this project and now he's working on making it the best deal possible.

Yeah Ambriosial is a no no to me too now, he did all his client dirty with that Hot Toys thing, he's clearly in it for the money and the money only.

That's great news, I think more people will be interested if he keeps the price fair. Again I have nothing against John, but that price tag just didn't sit right.

He did, can't just sell off a limited run to be mass produced. That's wrong in so many ways.

That’s what’d I’d do if I wasn’t 100% on the sculpt. The paint will be there.

I'm not sure which sculpt I would choose to be honest. I like John's work on the sleepy sculpt more than Yuan's, so I won't be switching for that.

Yixie's 4.0 could be interesting. It's one of my favorites. Although the expression does look somewhat "confused" for what I'm looking for.

But it's not so much the sculpt that has me second guessing. It's the price. The grand was easier spent seeing that fabulous first prototype. And it's worth it still if I knew that's exactly what I'd be getting...

Something's not been the same with the rest of them that followed. Perhaps it's partly Yuan's work. But it could be the changes that SeeArt made to the sculpt.

I find it extremely distasteful to sell people on something so expensive, only to then make any changes whatsoever...

I tried nagging SeeArt about selling me the prototype, but he won't budge.

At these expensive prices I won’t go with what
I feel is the inferior sculpt just to have him paint it.

Go with my favorite and see what awaits from there.

I don’t believe you’ll be pleased with the $700 you put into his sculpt. If I were you, I’d buy this Yi Xie sculpt for $210 and send it instead.

Oh man... I like this, love teeth... but I kind of want the whole thing finished, like how John Wu is planning to do the V2. One stop shopping.

Do you know what the John Wu price is for the V2 sculpt plus paint and hair, finished? And based on his V1, about how long is that process... a year, two, more?

Eager to see the painted sample of this. I still prefer the original, and that's the only thing keeping me from ordering one and sending it to Yuan. Redundancy.
