Gotta disagree there, sorry. You’ve been around long enough to see Adam Gu’s work, no company came close to what he made in the past. He doesn’t sell his work anymore, but according to a really close friend who has seen his more recent sculpts he’s still unmatched when it comes to Ledger.Eh, I wouldn't consider it a waste. Even with the "better" sculpts out there, I'm with HD in that I prefer the moving eyes and have thought of/would do the same with InArt's sculpts and the recent HT one if I really wanted to. Not one custom sculpt that has been shown here or that I've seen elsewhere (and there have been plenty) has ever persuaded me that custom was the only way to go, especially over the idea of just getting the InArt/HT ones redone. Are they perfect? No. But, their true potential, which they do have, can really be brought out in the right hands like Heise or John.
Not everyone can afford to buy or even want to buy multiple headsculpts just have the eyes painted in a different direction, especially considering that purchasing an authentic headsculpt costs as much as a whole 1/6 figure a lot of the time these days.
Nah, this could be more exciting to me.Definetly one of the best thing you can dream as a Ledger fan.
I think having a one off headsculpt like Adam Gu used to do is the ultimate dream.
I do...Nah, this could be more exciting to me.
But a one off by Adam is nothing to scoff at. And you do love your sculpts man
that's fineGotta disagree there, sorry. You’ve been around long enough to see Adam Gu’s work, no company came close to what he made in the past. He doesn’t sell his work anymore, but according to a really close friend that has seen his recent sculpts he’s still unmatched when it comes to Ledger.
A repaint by Black can quickly cost you over $400-500 dollars. Just not worth it for HT/InArt.
But, what something is worth comes down to the individual.
Yeah, I’d never pick a reworked HT/InArt over Adam’s work. I mean it doesn’t get much better than this and this is something Adam made years ago.that's fine
To be clear, I'm not saying that there aren't better sculpts out there. I definitely know that there are better sculpts that do look amazing. Not disputing that one bit at all nor am I trying to come off as argumentative.
What I am saying is that none of them have made me not prefer to get the InArt/HT sculpts redone instead. They look incredible for sure, but I'd still prefer to have the official ones redone instead. I even saw a DX01 sculpt redone like a year or so ago that really brought it to its full potential with a great repaint and rooted hair. Again, it's not even close to being a perfect likeness, but I loved seeing it done so well.
I definitely understand the school of thought that nothing official will ever be good enough for some of you guys and that's totally fine. We all have our preferences But, what something is worth comes down to the individual. What's not worth it to one person will totally be worth it to someone else. Some ppl think paying the rumored like what $8-10k for one of Adam's sculpts is worth it. I certainly don't no matter how good it looks, but it doesn't matter what I think as I'm not the one buying it and I'm not the target audience for it.
And, this is where we differ. I like the hair and paintwork on those sculpts, but I do not like the actual sculpts themselves at all really. The craftsmanship is nice and high caliber, but neither of those would be my end all be all Ledger sculpt, not by a long shot. I'd take those for free, but I wouldn't pay for those that you're showing here. I'd quite honestly display a redone InArt/HT sculpt over either of those (either by Heise or John). Might sound crazy to some of you guys, but neither of those sculpts are all that appealing to me. They look nice, but they aren't for meYeah, I’d never pick a reworked HT/InArt over Adam’s work. The $8-10k rumors aren’t true. Maybe for a one-off, but not for his more common sculpts.
True we all have our preferences like you said, I respect that.
I’m just trying to understand the thinking process of sending a subpar headsculpt to the best Ledger painter out there who’s extremely difficult to book and not cheap.

That would’ve been nice to know. Changes my perception on it.Those were made almost 10 years ago tho... Dude was truely ahead of his time.
I'm personally not a huge fan of 2.0 but I like the smilling one a lot.
That does sound crazy to me. But that’s fine, I was already well aware people here think differently regarding this subject. Hence my inactivity on this forum. And, this is where we differ. Exactly. Thank you. Those were made almost 10 years ago tho... Dude was truely ahead of his time.

Definitely! Not disputing that at all. But, again, all comes down to personal preference. I've been around since Adam started doing his Ledger customs oh so long ago adding just a bit of hair to fully sculpted heads for that extra bit of realism at the time. The main one I remember back in the day was his party scene Joker where I think he even made the shrimp on a stick He was definitely a head of his time though I think time has caught up with him and there are ppl equally as talented as him or at least close to it.Those were made almost 10 years ago tho... Dude was truely ahead of his time.

I'm not trying to be combative though and say one is right or wrong. I would hope that this conversation isn't cause for getting defensive as I'm not trying to argue. Again, just sharing a preference. Nothing wrong with having different opinions on the matter at allThat does sound crazy to me. Last two pictures is Heath through and through. I’m honestly not sure what you see.
Go ahead and laugh @HyperDrive. You think InArt is amazing so your comments on this subject are completely irrelevant.
Hey man, I’m not the one who made a parody account like your buddy did. And you’re the one who’s getting your panties in a twist over an opposing opinion/perspective and because I laugh reacted…?Definitely didn’t miss you. Childish like usual.
You didn’t direct this at Roan, did you? Well, I messaged Roan before they started it. Ugh, it comes off like we’re in a playground.Go in your private messages if you want to do that, it has nothing to do with this thread.
Well, I’m down to hash this out. Whatever this is.I directed it at both of you.
