just finished this game!! wooooowwww!!!! soooo suspenful! so many twists..always keeps you guessing! *i won't spoil it for you guys*

there are from what i've read 22 possible endings to the game depending on your choices throughout the game!

one of the best games i have ever played! i really felt like i was making decisions in a movie!

This game's graphics are top notch! the gameplay is original and unique! like nothing i have ever experienced before! the story is deep and really sucks you in! it really plays with your emotions and makes you feel for the characters!

it's nice to play something so different!

5/5!!! amazing! hope they make another one

Is the DLC good?

I havent been able to access the content. the PSN store just has demos and videos for Heavy Rain when I check.

But I just beat the game without the DLC, and it was great. I can't wait to try and go through it again and trying to get all (or realistically for me, most of) the endings. I think I got one of the "good" endings, though
there was some weirdness regarding Norman's conclusion.

Can't wait to see the rest.

The DLC is only available for the people who preordered it right now. It should be for sale on PSN soon though.

Is the DLC good?

Yes. To quote myself from last week:

I absolutely LOVED Chronicle 1: The Taxidermist! :rock Although I had chills and goosebumps the whole first playthrough.........creepy!
Something like this would have been much better suited as a demo for the game; it really demonstrates the re-playability that Heavy Rain has (unlike the rather lackluster demo we got).

I've seen a few people say the first DLC episode for Heavy Rain sucks.

Too short: I saw one guy quip it took longer to DL it than to play it. :lol

Self-Contained: Which means the DLC content has no bearing or relevance to the main game.

Annoying: the crappy, archaic controls were forgivable in the main game because of the all the other stuff going on but in a very short, contained episode it makes the crap controls stand out like a sore thumb.

5 Endings: BUT.. they all have the same outcome. Either Madison lives or she dies. So the endings differ only in HOW she escapes or HOW she dies. That's it.

It is short, but it didn't take THAT long to dl, and I'm on a pretty slow connection. Plus if it was any longer, you would be struggling to match play time with dl time.

The Taxidermist is meant to be a chronicle, which takes place before the game. It's meant to look into the life of the character outside of the game's timeline.

I didn't find the controls any different from the main game.

I actually liked the whole 5 endings thing, how it gives you a check-list of all the possible endings. Of course the ending is going to be either she lives, she dies, he lives, he dies etc......it's all about how you get to that ending.

From what I've seen there's only like 10 minutes worth of gameplay.

Yeah they're the same. But when you have a full game with the entire story and presentation etc. those clunky controls are more forgivable than a short little episode.

I think the point was, there's "two" different endings that only differ in how you escape i.e. the door or the window. Correct? If so.. that's pretty lame. Sorry.

Well perhaps you should play it, instead of going by what you've seen or heard. There's certainly more than 10 mins of gameplay, and there are other ways of surviving other than escaping through a door or window. Besides, it's the whole setting of the creepy house that adds to the experience. Yes it's short, but for a game like Heavy Rain (with it's many short scenes), it just feels like a small extension of the game. I don't know how much it costs to buy because I got it with the SE, but if it's under five bucks, I think it's worth it, especially if you really enjoyed the main game.

Just finished the game in one sitting. Very short. I can appreciate the direction they wanted to go here and like the cinematic feel and atmosphere (although the score which I thought was great at first started grating when the same two songs just repeat throughout the game). That's about where the positives end for me though. Very predictible story with plot holes galore. Which I don't mind so much in video games. However in this one, which is supposed to be all about the story over anything else, it's just flat and cliche. It's very linear. The illusion of freedom and choice is laughable. Multiple endings don't equal arc. The graphics while good, don't live up to the promise for me. The controls, or lack there of, got repetitive and monotonous. The voice acting is atrocious. With all these faults and a game that relies soley on providing emotional weight, this just didn't work for me. I will reiterate that I like the direction they attempted, and hope to see a better attempt along these lines in the future, but it won't work for me unless all the pieces fit.

I kinda feel the same way although I enjoyed a bit more than you seem to have. However, if people want an example of a great story with REAL gameplay added in may I suggest Oblivion or Mass Effect 1 or 2. Those games to me are far better and feel like you are playing through the story. Not just watching.

Well yeah.. because they're games. Heavy Rain (and Fahrenheit aka Indigo Prophecy) are "Interactive Films" according to the people who made them: Quantic Dream. So you're mostly watching and the actual "playing" you do is minor, meant to simply influence where the story goes. So it's not traditional game play by any means. It's more like watching a movie.
