Hi All,

Almost completed this dio, I just need to paint the cliff so it looks like sandstone and then weather it and the figures and then do the sand.

The cliff was covered with plaster of paris and then plaster cloth was used to give it a more natural look and then a 50/40/10 mix of spakfilla/sand/paint was used to cover the plaster cloth.

Hi All,

Ok nearly there, I only need to do the sand and then get outdoor pics.

The cliff was given washes of light sand, medium sands and brown sands and then two washes of desert sand. Once the last wash was done I used red brown pastel chalk and brushed it on in random areas.

Once the pastel chalk was added I then used a medium brush and gave the pastel chalk a going over of just plain water to spread it out and also to tone down the red brown.

The troopers were given weathering using light sand paint and pastel chalks so was the dewback, I gave the dewback the same water wash to tone the pastels down as well.

Hi All,

Last update for the night.

I have done the sand by mixing spakfilla 50/sand 40/Iraqui sand paint 10 and then applying it to the base and once it starts drying I glued the figures in place.

I'll let the sand mix dry and see what it looks before if it needs a wash of light sand and then I'll paint the edges.

Hi All,

Here are my usual outdoor pics. The sand/spakfilla mix was a little white so the last thing I did before the pics was give the sand a wash of Vallejo's Iraqui Sand.

Hi All,

Dude! You're making me want to get into the 1/12 scale. Too bad the non-armored figures are not up to par.

Hey Natedog, they are great kits and Bandai's Kylo Ren kit is really good. Yeah I loved doing the 1/6 scale but for room these 1/12 kits are the way to go as I can get double to triple the dios now.

Hi All,

Did a small dio with Rey and BB-8.

Rey is a Hasbro BS 6" and I glued the joints then puttied them over and then used tissue paper for the cloth areas. I gave the staff a leather strap and small metal rings. BB-8 is a Bandai kit and built straight from the box, I painted and weathered them both using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

The base is just a thick piece of Balsa wood cut to size and the sand is a mix of spakfilla nd sand with a little Vallejo's Iraqui sand mixed in with it.
