I ask this because I know some women can give their boyfriends/husbands a hard time when it comes to their collecting habits :nono I knew a guy who would spoil his wife by buying her anything she wanted no questions asked; he pretty much gave her his credit cards and she would go on a shopping spree terror buying up half the store and filling the house with her garbage; but whenever he bought a new statue or figure she would just flip out and say..."Oh my God how stupid...why do you have to keep buying that.....stupid....stupid....how stupid". I can understand if there was no food on the table and he kept spending his money on statues like crazy; but, this is a man with deep pockets who worked hard all his life and deserves to have a hobby of his own. He would go out of his way to make her happy so why cant he enjoy something that he loves?
I'm lucky I have a girlfriend who's a freak like me. When she first came to my house, I didn't think she would be into it, but when she walked in she was like "this is the coolest $@#t I have ever seen!!! Not only do we travel, party and get drunk together, we also go to collectible stores and conventions meeting other freaks and most likely get drunk with them. :chug

mine is one of the reasons i do it, she got me my first piece. lol

I think your friend should get rid of such inappropriate cancers. I am proud to say that my wife is very supportive of what I collect, does this mean she likes what I collect? No. It means she loves me and is happy to see me happy, it shouldn't matter what a man decides to collect.

thats gold right there man, or should i say bronze in our hobby's language, lol
that is a rare sight man good for you. :banana

She rolls her eyes when a package gets delivered, but she supports it. She even shows my collection to people that come over.

My girlfriend is a nerd like me though I think I win since I collect these great collectables. She once told me that she loved me for my sheer nerdy ness and the more I showed the more she loved me, sadly she was supportive of this new hobby at first but when I bought 4 1/6th figs. in one month she flipped out! See I get kinda crazy with these guys so sometimes I just buy more and more, she said she would like it if I just took it more slowly.... sadly some of these collectables are harder to find the longer you wait :(

My wife has bought me some of my favorite collectibles.:rock
I was gonna say I got my best piece from my wife but that could play to an entirely different interpretation.:lol

That's your friend's fault for allowing that. She should've known he was a collector before they got married and if she didn't like it before, then she certainly wasn't going to like it after they got married. I know alot of women who are in the same boat, so it's not just women who don't like collecting.

I've had boyfriends in the past who haven't like my hobbies and, well, they're no where to be seen.:lol

I like my toys. I like my baseball. I like my dvds and tv. Throw in good food and good sex and who needs anything more? Don't like it...BYE!:wave

Sounds like your friends needs a divorce.

Sounds like your next collectible should be a diamond ring.

My husband is very supportive and helped me pick out the T800 Arnie bust and Combat
Endo bust to buy. I support him in his sailing hobby so we are both very lucky.

My wife is very supportive, in fact she wants to buy me some shelves. Oh yeah, she cant stand the shipper boxes:lol...

My Wife is very cool about my collection---she just wants to know when I place the order instead of seeing the delivery man with packages.

my wifes supportive too she even bought me enterbays jet lis sign edition thats what you call love lol and in return i bought her some stupid hello kitty cell phone

Yep. Even though I get deeper into it every year and have taken over the study with my toys and custom crap she hasn't said one negative thing about it. Not even the stink eye. I love my wife.:inlove
