I got my HOME beta key today, it seems a lot of PSU members got them. I hear as much as 100,000 new beta keys went out today,luckily I was one of them.

Well, I understand why no one is talking about HOME. I downloaded and "played" for 30 minutes. Got kicked about 10 times. I really don't see what you are supposed to do with HOME. It would be awesome if every time you started your PS3 you would load in to your apartment, but everything loads so slowly that I don't see that happening.

HOME vets, am I missing something?

It's something that is pretty cool an innovative. But (and I'm not trying to start an argument) something like this really shows why a paid subscription like Xbox Live is better--with that system they can use better servers and you won't have connection problems.

And really, Home should have been a feature that shipped with the PS3---would have sold a lot better I think.

well right now is just beta lot of the stuff is not open. I will leave my coments till I actually have the real thing in hand.
what I love about ps3 is that all online content is free.
No monthly fees.

XBOX live must be cool but It better be for paying a month.

even if home sucks who cares is free anyways.

I won't say that HOME sucks simply because I don't understand what it's for. Its not a game, its just a place to meet people and do things. Problem is, why "play" HOME when you can play a real game. Why talk in HOME when you can play Resistance 2 Co-op and accomplish the same thing.

I simply don't understand.

Also, why is the HOME beta the exact thing they've been previewing for the last 2 years? It looks EXACTLY the same as the preview from when the system was coming out.

The great things about a pay service is that for one--the network is much more reliable, the few times it has had problems is only when a big release comes out and tons of people go online.

Even more importantly--for any MMO games you don't have to pay anything extra to play, while with PS3's free system they're already considering monthly payments for stuff like MAG

It just surprises me that Sony would keep shooting themselves in the foot with stuff like this. If they're not careful they will continue to fall behind in the console wars and will eventually just make Sony a BR company.

Solid- I hope though you're telling Sony about your problems. That way they are adding them to what needs to be fixed. Thats why they have you beta test things.
