It will be a long time before any games are photorealistic, so don't get your hopes up.
It's not the technology that's the problem since it keeps getting faster all the time. It's the work--video games are interactive and 3D, you can change the views-and they are much longer than movies, this all means a lot more work to make the games, and a much higher cost. At this rate it would probably take like 5 years at least to make a game like that(if the console technology was available). And for video games developers, there's no point since they can make just as much (if not more) by making less photorealistic games.
