I love this game!

They say LoZ Breath of the Wild is even better (and I own it but hven't started it), but its difficult to believe. The story really resonated with me, and it touches on so many subjects, like the best of science-fiction does. And then there's the Art department. Wow... seeing this game in action convinced my PC loyalist friend to get himself a Ps4.

Anyone has the Collector's Edition statue?

I only got the Limited steelbook. The statues (both Aloy and Thunderjaw) seem nice from a distance, but the paint app seems lacking some how (e.g. Aloy's face). So I hope to see other type of collectibles down the line (hopefully play arts kai & three-zero).

Ps. Already got the art-book.

Spent hours yesterday hunting animals to upgrade my quivers. With the map fully open to exploration I have to say it really is quantity over quality. Its very bland and very similar. Story is ok. Graphics are brilliant but it really irritates me how awful the emotionless faces and poor animation is. Similarly it irks me gravity pulls dead animals bodies downhill but Aloys hair never gets wet.

Overall Id say the game is a 7. I find myself stupid reliant on spamming the slow-motions when attacking IE jumping and zooming in. Its very shallow in terms of combat; I only use the Sharpshooter bow, Rattler and the Tripcaster. Thats all I need. Human enemies are dire aswell. I feel something more couldve been done with this world. The cauldrons are ok but its weird seeing tanks and cars up mountains but the rest of the world shows little trace of previous humanity especially when it is nearly 1000 years between Aloy and when the end of humanity happened.

Overall it just feels 'meh' to me. Gameplay is repetative, story can be complex but at the same time the motivation just isnt there for me. Thank god for unlimites fast travel as it is so boring going places without it.

That is a fair review..........the map design is straight out of Far Cry even down to the cloudy areas that have been unexplored. There is a lot of repetition on the side stuff, but people can ignore some of it.......

I'd give the game an 8, overall. But, not far enough in the main story to say whether it'll remain that score

I really can't get into this at all. The Melee combat is so dull and simple, graphically its nice but its also devoid of character. Coming to this Fresh off the heels of Zelda Breath of the Wild and it feels so basic in comparison.

I'm kind of surprised at how different opinions can be.

Maybe its harder for some to relate to a character who's primary motivation is a religious one (being an "outcast"), or maybe you're not in it for the story, or your expectations are really really lofty.

I loved every second of it, and the story really picks up more and more. Gotta be a completionist in regards to readind and listening to all the Focus clips and texts. It was exciting for me when I realized where it takes place, for example.

And the graphics are an achievement. Maybe Crysis 3 on PC looks as good (there's a hidden "nano-weave" armor in the game...). I'd often just stay still and watch the landscapes.

One way or another, Breath of the Wild is an awesome game too, and the winner is us the consumers for having games like these. They are art.

Nothing to do with religion. More to do with genuinely poor characterisation; I feel nothing for the characters; their motivations dont feel genuine and all the characters are very robotic and emotionless. Aloy herself came across very atheist to me when the rest of the people were not but it suffers from very poor voice acting to convey any genuine feeling.

Actually, the whole reason she's an outcast and so is her mentor, is because of their religion, worshipping the All-Mother. And it was especially unfair to her, and she had no reasonable explanation for her situation.

Of course, this religion is baseless, and Aloy becomes an "atheist" when she realizes the truth. There wasn't a god in the mountain. Just a computer tasked with overseeing the rebirth of humanity.

The amount of carnage when you override a Thunderjaw and it gets into fight with another. :lol

I'm enjoying this game so far. I guess about a third in, just got to Meridian. I like exploration and strategizing how to best attack a group of machines or an enemy camp. The graphics are great, I like Aloy and I like the machine designs, animations and AI. The cons, poor voice acting/dialogue/lip sync, lackluster camps and village design, and repetitive stealth gameplay, don't outweigh the good, especially when you get a bit further in and begin to encounter the high level machines. The engine is pretty impressive and it'll be interesting to see what Death Stranding does with it.

The first time I arrived at Meridian, I stumbled across it from the south, at night. It was a magical moment.

I am 40 plus hours in, and kinda realized I've been farting around on side mission stuff, and just looting in general - almost exclusively . And just now getting to the main story, and it hints and some dark *** stuff.......And call me crazy, but the Robo-Dinos are ****ing AWESOME.....

Far Cry + Dinos = fun times.

I do wish it had drop in/out co-op - that seemed like a missed opportunity. For those with a 4k tv, and the Pro - can you actually tell a difference with the graphics option toggle? My 4k tv does not have HDR, and each option looks about the same to me.

I do wish they had a character creator option. I'd rather have my Aloy look way more Native American. Butt-*** white chick seems like an odd choice for a native american inspired theme, imo. But, whatever

Mister, I'm glad you're enjoying it more and more. The main story gets darker and better as it goes!

And without spoiling anything, Aloy's design makes perfect sense. You'll see. =)

Happy gaming.

Yeah, they also announced an expansion is in the works today as well.

The ending pretty much sets up a sequel or continuation perfectly.

Very cool. Glad to hear it, but yeah, dino hunting is pretty fun. Yeah, the negativity for this game is weird since it is Far Cry in many ways...............

This game is not at all bad. It's quite an achievement visually even though the characters animations seem motionless. That's why sequels will improve on these flaws. The story is cool also. I'm enjoying it more than hating it. However I do believe the opinions of everyone is fine.
