Dog Soldiers is awesome!
Another one by the same director Neil Marshall: Doomsday
Perhaps more of an action film than a true horror but fun to watch nonetheless.

Has anybody seen Men Behind The Sun?

It's about a Japanese concentration camp, where horrible tests and tortures are being performed.
It has a real autopsy and at least one scene with a real animal killing. (can't really remember if there were more)

I saw it a couple of years ago and I didn't like it. Just as Cannibal Holocaust not really scary, but just made to shock and horrify.

You have to add Evil Dead and Army of Darkness on there then as well.

Yeah, I actually put that movie in my list. What really shocked me was that part in the van when somebody was orally pleasuring the driver and when he finished he just threw the head out the window. WHAT???

Luis

oh yeah, that was wrong! :lol What about when she's trying to escape by looking where the flashlights shining and when she's about to escape you realize it's on a belt swinging!:horror great stuff! very original.

Anyone mention Session 9 yet? Definitely worth checking out.

Ah yeah Session 9, forgot about that one!

Saw it a couple of months ago and I liked it.
Great suspense moments sometimes, especially
the scene where Josh Lucas' character is walking in that abandoned tunnel thinking that someone is following him

Also something I always found very frightening, but I don't think it's out on dvd, was that Discovery Channel series
A Haunting

That series aired about two years ago in The Netherlands at 01.00 AM. Now those were some chilling stories. Always had trouble falling asleep after watching that :)

There's a movie version of based on one of the episodes coming out this week or so. A Haunting In Connecticut. I wonder if it will be as scary as the series...

The Thing - i had to switch off when i first saw this alone about age 13 mainly because i couldnt get over the fact the dog was evil! Dogs cant be evil! Still feel very on edge watching it 20 yrs later. Good music too. Love John Carpenter in general.

The Shining - just brilliant. Love the making of documnetary too.

Pretty much any '... of the Dead' movies - zombies rule!

I forgot to add exorcisit to my list. that movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. And of course as already mentioned the shining. :rock
