Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Hands are still not reaching to the waist (on T-800 body). Seems to be the problem of most muscle bodies.

If I can find this for a deal, Ill pick it up and mod the hell out it. Also looking forward to what mods the futzmaster Maglor can come up with. :)

Bane's not suppose to be have a neck...it's just muscle!

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - TDKR Bane Collectible Figure Full Specs & Pics

That's for sure! :yess:
thanks for the confidence man :hi5: I really liked him in the film so I'm really going to put a lot into trying to make it as good as it can be just like the DX12
Make sure to update us on what youre doing and how youre doing it! :lol Maybe even start up a Bane modification thread like Maglor did for the DX12? :hi5:

will do. Unless someone else gets this figure before me (very likely since I didn't order him until September), I'll start a thread, however I don't do videos and my pics are nothing compared to others :lol

Main things going to get modded are:
1: boots
2: mod the right fist to house of the the 2 glove/gauntlets it come with
3: probably retailor the pants to be baggy enough
4: rework the nose area of the mask
5: make the coat more accurate along with weathering
6: work the traps (not sure though until I get the figure in hand)

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I've never modded any of my figures, it's just too expensive for me to possibly **** them up and I don't have the craftsmanship to mod nice and neatly. But if you could make a step by step modding video for Bane (at least, if you could pull anything off with him) that would be hugely appreciated. I don't really have the confidence to start hacking away at an almost 200 euro piece by forum posts alone, if you know what I mean :wink1:

there's no "if" with this figure. My list above, I am confident I can achieve everything I listed to do

I can understand your weariness for sure. I still get scared when modding my HT figures, but not so much when I'm doing total overhauls or from scratch customs. It's the main reason i haven't undone the suit of my DX12 to remove the padding. I need to be sure I can do it with little to no damage. With Bane, I am sure. the mods are fairly basic

I've been doing a lot of cut and sew work on my most recent customs that I've gotten comfortable with needle work

With that said, I will try to do videos if I can but i am no familiar with youtube or video making so it might not be a good idea :lol

Nice. Although on the T800 body it looks more movie accurate, I'd take better articulation on the new body that comes with this piece any day and anytime! :lecture
:lol
The new T800 body is much more articulated at the elbows than the stock body on Bane

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

The figure is far from perfect, but I really like the way it turned up overall.

I love the movie version of this character to death, and its a must buy for me. It may not be the most accurate thing ever, but as OMG pics prove, even without any mods, the figure can look really intimidating standing on the shelf. Some poses look especially Boss.

Correct the shape of his mask, somehow accentuate his traps and "weather" the skin on his arms (the make up he wore in the film, gave him a very rugged, almost sickly feel in some areas). Those are the only mods I care about, and until I figure out a way to make them correctly, he can happily stand on the shelf, wearing his jacket and looking awesome.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Haha, oh well. If you could do anything to explain a bit more in detail how you do these things, that would be great. ;)

i am no genius at this stuff and even now still live in terror of just looking at my dx01 pers head the wrong way for fear of causing it damage.

trust me ~ if i can strip bats, you can do it. just be patient and gentle.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I will take a more natural looking coatless Bane with the stock body then using the new T-800 body simply because the elbow joints will look ugly when exposed.

I am not modding anything, looks fine as is.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Maybe it just takes better posing, but the pics of him in the boss pose don't look all that good imo.

Wonder who's gonna be the first to cut the fists up so he can grip the coat. :)

If my only legacy here at Sideshow Freaks is that it becomes a custom for people to take turns staring threads where people openly share modding ideas, my time here will have been well spent. :)

Your the futz master/mod master the freaks deserve, AND the one its needs right now.

I'm still thinking it over. My focus has turned from the DX 12 to my other two project: Underworld Selene and EP3 Anakin

Wonder who's gonna be the first to cut the fists up so he can grip the coat. :)

no need when you have both kinds of fist grip hands like I do :yess: :wink1:

:1-1:

Well I won't be starting one unless I can explain it all. And even at that, I'm not sure many would want to do/spend the money on what I'm planing on doing :lol lots of sewing will be involved. not much of heating/freezing.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

If I had to do any modding, it'd be incorporating the glove/wrist-guard so he can wear it with the closed fists, otherwise I'm pretty content with the figure. I'd rather have the smoother arms and sacrifice the "boss" pose, than have the double-jointed elbows since I wanna display him with the coat off.
