Hot Toys – MMS183 The Dark Knight Rises Bane Figure

I decided to try a Phicen/TBL body. I'm reluctant and a bit weary of seamless bodies, but I've read good mention of these. It has a nice hefty feel and maneuvers very well. I'm impressed and pleased.

Daftoys Bane set on a Phicen M35. Absolutely love how this looks on the shelf and that body is really impressive. A bit of a pain to get hands on it though.

I currently have 2 HT Bane’s (1 jacketed & one not) but wanted to change things up so I picked up the S.King.S set & a Phicen M34 body to mess with.

Seen some hit & miss reviews on the quality of the materials, however one thing I will point out is the new head sculpt. Definitely not a recast at all. The head itself is smaller than the HT, but the front mask section is bigger, and to me, more movie accurate (especially the nose & the tubes). Dare I say I may like it over the HT, but I can’t decide which way I’ll go just yet. I’ll throw up more pics once I get it all assembled.

Okay,

So I put together the S.King.S kit on the Phicen M34 body…not gonna lie, I’m happy how it turned out. The Hot Toys Bane is a hair taller in my case, but not by much.

I did have to glue the long zipper back onto the pants and one button in the back, but otherwise the materials seemed solid. I agree with those that said take your time. You can tuck the pants into the boots, and futz the vest on and get all straps all done and it looks really good.

Again, with the head sculpt, I really like it, esp for a 3rd party. It’s not as high def as the HT, but I like the mask a lot better on this one.

I nabbed a loose MToys Bane (Stock Exchange) figure, and I hafta say the head sculpt is top notch. It's a great sculpt in my opinion and the paint is good; if it had HT level paint apps it'd be even greater. I think it captures Hardy's Bane so well.

Here it is next to the Daftoys head sculpt, which is a good recast of the HT. I'm not sure my pictures depict it well, but the MToys is larger.

The rest of the figure is pretty nice as well. The underlying body is big and hefty; at first I thought the arms and legs were recast from the HT TTM20, but it seems (correct me if I'm mistaken) this body is based off the HT Terminator Genysis Guardian figure with a new chest piece (and maybe the lower abdomen). But yeah glad they decided to make a larger figure. The suit is nicely done too, the jacket and pants look and feel of good quality.

I tihnk you're right about the body. I have a loose one and it definitely looks like the T800 Genisys body with a Hardy-Bane chest piece. It's a super heavy body for sure. Just be weary that the hips on the body tend to come loose as the glue (or lack there of) that they use was pretty cheap. Nothing some proper super glue can't fix though.

Yeah a heavy fig for sure lol It's cool they created a new sculpted chest piece with the scarring on the back, though it's made of a hard plastic. Thankfully all the joints are nice and stiff on mine lol

That looks good! I agree, if paint apps on the MToys was better, it will be a good HS. I like how its a bit bigger too so it doesnt look like a pinhead when using the buff body.

I recently used the S.King Bane set with an M35 body. Parts of it were falling off as I put it together so I had to work some magic in the back for it to all work but I'm really happy with it. I think the new Hot Toys will be close to $400 after taxes and shipping and I got this for $195 ($125 for the kit from TNS and $70 for the M35 from OSK).
