I think it makes it easier to pose him "riding" the skateboard with that waste grabber. Maybe someone else has a better reason.

I think that's the reason, a crotch grabber would be hard to use with the skateboard. But for general display purposes, crotch grabbers are easier to use and better looking.

Yes that is the actual house and from what I hear, the owners arent big bttf fans and are sick and tired of people asking to take pics with their delorean on the drive

Yeah, I guess I would get sick of it over time, but hell, make a little cash on the side if they want a pic in the driveway. Charge $20 and call it a day. If they want pics from the street, then so be it.
