If it was an actor likeness issue there would be zero product. Like Jennifer Lawrence mystique. But there are multiple drax figures. So, not the problem.

Like this one from iron studios. Or the marvel legends. There's others as well.

Whatever the case it's weird HT haven't released him yet if they have the rights. What else can it be, a production issue with the tats/scars maybe?

... Marvel most likely didn't approve the prototype which probably stems from the body design

It doesn't matter where they have the license for. (There's lots of others that are from other companies that are in different areas). If it was an issue with the actors likeness it would be the same in every region. Again, like with the last couple xmen films. When it's an actor likeness issue there is no authorized product.

The issues with drax, with what I know, I have mentioned in the past. The first prototype didn't not meet in house and marvel production standards and was scrapped. Then it takes around 12-18 months before a figure is completed. If it's able to go right back into the production schedule and there are no issues. Which is not the case, as the production schedule for hot toys is full. So it takes longer. And because of the prior production issue with him they wanted to run a partial production test to make sure the issue does not happen again before they put him up.

So the possibility for this figure is still live? I've only heard that it has been scraped. I would love any sort of iteration of Jax from HT simply to complete the team.

He's still coming. They invested way to much time and money into it to not make it.

At this point I feel like most collectors are like the guy in the movie theater in the First Avenger

and while I'm tempted to say......

No one knows. But you can look at past releases and come to an educated guess. And that would be no.

They'll sometimes tweak a headsculpt right before release without any real press, like with the just released Scarlet Witch. They shouldn't even consider such a thing with Drax. Could add another 2-3 years on top of whatever it is that we'll still be waiting.

Doesn't mean much. Look at older catalogs. We got like 15 figures last year that where not in it.

We know for sure there are figures left out of that one. No 1/6 mk45 for example. No Kennedy from the same R6 game. It's just a device for retailers to use to try and get an idea of what MAY be coming.

There's also no promise that if it's in the catolog it will come this year or next (it's the 16-17) or even at all. The first Thor movie Loki was in a catalog as was Prof X I believe. And some of the things on this one where in last year and still no PO yet.
