With the pic showing him in the Vol. 2 pants, are we still talking about the original release or version 2? I can't keep track.

Given how long we've waited, it seems unlikely that the body will be different for #2. He'll have to have a new head sculpt (or 2) and one heck of an accessory to even tempt me. A new pair of pants isn't going to do the trick.

Well, this settles it... I'm going to wait for the GOTG2 version because that gun is so much better than the bazooka. The only thing I'll miss is the red pants, which I can probably get 2nd hand. I hope they don't pull a fast one and cancel the vol.2 version.

I have no interest in waiting even longer to have Drax on my shelf so i'm sticking to V1. I'll probably pose him with the knives anyway but I might pick up the V2 gun second hand.

Ha! Well, the facial expression looks new (a bit sterner), but I don't think it's enough of a change to warrant buying the whole figure. But come the actual release, maybe we'll be surprised. I doubt it, but you never know...

I would think this will just be the leftover 1st version with new pants if any are left over. If I had the original starlord and gamora I wouldn't buy updated versions of those either. Rocket at least has a screaming head.

I'm certain most people probably feel the same as you and consequently, I don't think V2 Drax is going to be a big seller. It essentially being the exact same figure with only a couple of nuances doesn't really help, either.

The only people I feel that will actually purchase a V2 are completionists who are going for exclusively a GotG V2 display in their V2 outfits. Those who are sticking with the first set to represent their GotG display or who just want a Drax figure to have him represented in general I imagine will likely just stick with the first one being that there's very minimal difference. For those people it's basically at this point a case of just give me a Drax figure, I don't care which one it is.

Yeah, I know I'm kinda missing out. If my funds were unlimited, I'd buy everything but as such I have to make some hard choices. I only bought Rocket because I got him really cheap and the other 3 are more wants than guaranteed buys until I actually pay for them lol. The pain of being a family man on a budget.

There will be more Groots at least two more with Infinity War and GotG3 on the way.

So far I'll get every Guardian from vol. 2 except Drax. Thing is, I might even like the blue pants of vol. 2 better but I already preordered and I'm not gonna cancel so that my local retailer has to try and sell that figure to someone else. I feel like a lot of sellers will hate this release. I mean, imagine HT makes a deluxe vol. 2 Drax with a second head sculpt and more, how many will cancel the 1st version? I really think HT isn't doing anyone a favour with their way of handling their Drax release. :/

IF Hot Toys made a second head sculpt for the new Drax. One that's laughing, let's say...I would not cancel my first order. I would keep it, and also order the second. Considering I don't see that happening, I am keeping my first one, and ignoring the second. Which is not an easy thing for me to do.

I never considered Drax might get a deluxe figure too. Hmmm...maybe I WILL wait on volume 2 for him as well. My Rocket from the first film just got here. Hope he's amazing and hope he can wait for his buddies.
