For those that have this in hand, is the body able to be bulked up by sliding something underneath?

Nope. I tried to have him leaning forward to give the illusion of girth..not too sure if I was successful but he looks fine.

I have completed the team for now:wink1: Until they launch Nebula , Mantis and Yondu! I would buy these 3 if HT make them. Do you have any of the Guardians?

True! :lol I really, really want a Yondu figure (wouldn't say no a Nebula or Mantis either tho tbh) but he is the one I'd like the most! Hope they make him!

I have the current 4 Guardians figures, Drax is on pre-order, will be nice to complete the original line-up :yess: - I think they make such a great looking group display. :)

I also "had" to pre-order the new Star Lord figure...despite saying several times that I wouldn't re-buy any of the original team! :slap

I was thinking of canceling but as underwhelming as I find the in hand pictures of Drax alone to be...I am blown away by the pictures of the entire team together...he will look great on my shelf with Thanos and the rest...skinny torso and all.

Nice details but that body is a epic fail.

Hmmmm...

If we're using that screen grab on the right to say that the size of the torso of the figure should match up exactly with that screen grab, then in that case the sculpt is also too small, as are the hands.

I just rewatched this movie a couple nights ago. Drax should be pretty noticeably wider than Groot. That Bautista a hefty, hefty boy.

The lack of any lats I feel is what's really contributing to this figure looking like it has a slender torso.

I mean, just his waist and midsection alone are wider than Groot in the movie. There's a scene where he puts his arm around Groot and it's clear as can be. I wonder if they decided not to make his upper body as wide as it needs to be because they would have had to make the lower body more bulky as well.

Yes. A more accurate comparison is in order.

He is supposed to be wider than Star Lord and a bit taller. Could have been a bit wider with bigger arms but it's a decent representation of the character.
