I think someone was trying to stir crap up.
Worst case scenario would be getting drax from GOTG2. His costume won't change much as its just a pair of pants.

Why would they do that? It makes no sense from a business standpoint. It won't actually appease anyone (see MJ or catwoman or Prometheus, when they said not making/no plans to make people just complained) and it's the potential to effect sales of other figures. If they had put it up for actual PO then I would agree, but they never did that. People are, to this point, guessing it will get made.

Not saying this is what I would want. Or how I would do it. Or anything like that. Just why hot toys would take the course they are.

Yea, if people wouldn't fly off the hinge and cancel other orders I think hot toys would. But our (collectors in general) track record does not show we (again, the royal we) handle it so well. Lol

In the past Hot Toys has had something of a reputation for not completing teams/lines etc but recently with Marvel anyway we seem to be getting the full monty and then some, so I wondered is it possibly that part of the licencing agreement is " you must make the whole team" ? just curious as if that were so then we will definitely be getting him.

I don't know for sure as I have not seen the agreement. But I really doubt it. The companies are almost never told which stuff they "Have" to produce. That would be a very bad deal for hot toys to sign. If they released one figure (remember when they signed this deal GotG was not known and had not been released so no way to know if it even did well) from the team and it didn't sell they would then be forced to make 3 more they where sure wouldn't. And Marvel would risk upsetting a huge revenue stream.

I'm okay with having all the guardians except for Drax tbh. I would prefer them all, but if there is one that they don't make then I'd prefer it to be Drax.
He was the last one to show up in the film, so I am thinking of creating a display depicting the scene on Nova when the other 4 are fighting over the orb.

That's why i'm not too particularly concerned about missing Groot from this line either. They could maybe even get a better sculpt for the next movie. Same with Rocket.

I don't know how the sculpt for groot could be any better. I think the sculpt is on point, and even better with the exclusive angry groot face and partially clenched fists

The headscult for Groot to me is a little off. Like it's a TAD too thin or something. I have no idea why but i'm such a perfectionist with proportions and it just looks somewhat off. And it's mainly with CG characters. Like....I need someone to take a pic of the HT Groot at the same angle and pose as the poster to compare it but the proto pic looks fine there. But the pic at SDCC just looks weird. Like he looks a little thin, maybe it's just the way he's posed and the angle. Move his chest down a little bit. Sorry for the Groot chat. XD I just want his proportions to be correct. Mainly his trapezius and up. Like I said, if someone can take apic when he's out to match his character poster, i'd be completely fine with it or as long as they don't **** with the proto.
