I have the v1 SS purchased for $170 Can back in the day (miss those prices). I will get the HT version but keep my SS (which I do love)
Got my fett exclusive for 200.00 back in the day. It was my second 1/6 figure. My cherry was classic predator 2.0 I was hooked after that.

It's really just a function of how strong your OCD is or how much money you have [emoji3][emoji3]

Well my OCD far outweighs my bank account unfortunately. I always seem to find a way to make it happen for the figures that are special to me though!

Don't think anyone posted these guys yet...

Thank you for posting this!

Unless there's some serious lens distortion going on in the video, this revised helmet is still off in several areas. From the front, the whole helmet is too narrow, and the vertical section of the visor seems maybe a bit too long. From the profile, HT sculptors still don't seem to understand the sloping of the front half and the proportions between back half and front half. And the back off the helmet seems to be colored incorrectly; the darker area should be more blueish in tint.

I took some screen shots of the review video to get similar comparisons to the movie helmet from the front, back, and both sides.

And here's the front view so the HT and movie helmets can be compared closer together.

It could be just due to angles and lens distortion, but the HT helmet as it appears in the video has a visor which rounds too far. The front half of the helmet extends too far forward and skews the overall look. It should seem flatter and wider.

Some improvements for sure, but it seems there might be enough still wrong to keep it from being as accurate as HT could have made it. But for the less OCD collectors than me, the nitpicks certainly aren't going to keep it from being a damn cool Fett figure (which it definitely is), and therefore the best choice out there for an ESB version of Boba Fett.

The helmet shape isn't perfect, but it's certainly an improvement. As far as color, depending on the filter Kershner uses in different scenes of ESB, Fett's costume changes color. It has a bluish hue in the white hallway scene with Frozen Han, and it's much greener against the red hallway scene with Lando.

Like I said a few pages back,it looks like the only corrections they really made to the helmet since the proto were shortening the range finder stalk, which I think might tilt at too extreme an angle now, and correcting the weird malformed triangle above the visor. You can see in some parts of that video that the gaps the gauntlets form around the wrists are ridiculous (the appearance of this could have probably been minimized by using wrist pegs that closely match the green on the gauntlets instead of black! Why the hell did they go with black?).

What are the chances that someone could perhaps design a proper bucket for this figure and make some casts/3D prints? I'm convinced that no major manufacturer is ever gonna get it right at this point and I wonder if we could turn to the custom community to help realize a movie accurate helmet.

I'm actually still surprised this has not been done so far.

To me there's some pretty obvious lens distortion going on in that video, especially in the closeup shots, so I'm not sure I would rely too heavily on that. In some of the FB pics the helmet looks a whole lot better.

Just curious here, but don’t you see a big difference between these two pictures? I mean we are in the nitpicking area, and with that in mind I think the difference is pretty significant. Not just the rangefinder.

Who knows?
The kind of frustrating thing is that there's really no reason Hot Toys couldn't have made this almost shot for shot movie accurate. Sideshow got the color of the flightsuit right on their V2 Sixth scale and premium format and lifesize figures; Medicom got the helmet almost dead on, except for the panels on the sides; EFX made their lifesize ESB Fett helmet proto using 3D scans of one of the original film used helmets in Empire, and I kind of have a hard to believing that Hot Toys couldn't have gotten those scans, too; even Hot Toys nailed the ESB visor "squint" on the ROTJ Boba Fett helmet (whether by mistake or not). But hey, it's not Rogue One or Last Jedi, so **** it.

I see a difference in the paint job, the little triangles, and the angle of the helmet in this comparison. I don't feel like shopping a comparison, but I tried to compare some closer angles from the proto pics and the blogger pics and Chinese video review, and I don't see any real difference besides what I just said. If you do, that's great, man. Buy it and be happy.

I'm having a hard time committing to this for that reason. Yes, it looks good; yes, better than the proto... but this is their third crack at Boba's Helmet, and this is the one I wanted to be perfect. The fact that all those resources exist and those other companies succeeded make it feel as though it's just negligence on Hot Toys part. I really didn't want to accept "good enough" on this release and I feel obligated to vote with my dollar. But Hot Toys knows I'm in a minority on that, and that I'll probably break down and purchase anyways.

Agreed, it's pretty obvious to me that the one on the right is shorter and wider. Maybe it's still not 100% accurate to the movie, but it's definitely a big improvement and a lot closer than it was.

Many blogger photos available, but I like the angle of this one. It also shows both Regular and deluxe built figures side by side.
