Im happy with mine ROTJ Boba (love the red gauntlets and colored jet pack) , now just need HT Jango to complete "father & son".

I really wanted to get a HT Jango, but I was never really crazy about the way they designed the armor pieces to attach to the suit...I would have been happier with a repainted ESB Boba Fett suit/armor in the blue/silver colors, and then use Jango's belt, holsters, jetpack, etc...

Sideshow looks like a toy to me. Nothing hangs right.

I'm looking at my Sideshow Fett (along with my Hot Toys one standing right next to it)....and I'm trying to figure out what you mean by 'nothing hangs right.' Do you mean the bulky hard foam packed into the large pockets look unnatural? As compared to Hot Toys just putting a subtle bit of fluff in theirs. Then again, the skinny thighs, short forearms, lanky legs, squared off chest armor, dirty string braids, bulged out cod piece, catcher mitt hands and baby puke mint green color might also have something to do with it being a bit toy-ish looking lol. I do (or more accurately DID) love the figure......until Hot Toys made theirs. I'll replace the Sideshow one only if Hot Toys makes a totally new helmet mold. If it's just a repaint, then that's a no go for me.

The figure appears too squat with the short neck and throws the proportions off.
This, 100%.
Hmm, very peculiar. The Hot Toys Jedi Fett (if anything) has too long of a neck. At least the unaltered one I have does. Then again, there might be some play in how far up or down you can push the helmet. So there's a possibility mine isn't pushed down as far as it can go perhaps. I tried to upload a picture of mine, but I keep getting an "incorrect file extension" error message - only recently did that start to happen. And with these ESB pics, Fett's head is angled downwards.

Hell, even the 6" Mafex nailed the helmet for that figure. Can someone take that helmet and blow it up for 1:6? I wish, lol

Someone did. The mafex helmet (like their first mafex vader) is just a scaled down version of their 1/6 RAH Boba helmet. I much prefer it over the Sideshow and Hot Toys helmets. Unfortunately, I think it is a little undersized if put on a regular body.

The helmet is also too long faced, giving it an awkward look. Boba has a very lanky and craned neck in the films, rather than a thick short neck.

Although his voice is much older than the original Fett's in ESB, I kinda picture Boba Fett as this grizzled lanky dude, like the actor who plays Stick in Netflix's Daredevil.

Again, my unaltered Hot Toys ROTJ Boba Fett doesn't in the slightest have a thick short neck. It is a long, thin neck. But I'll just chalk it up to you see blue and I see green. As in, everybody has a different perception. Speaking on the helmet, I never saw it being too long. It never crossed my mind until reading recent comments on that. I do see the vertical part of the visor being a bit too long. But I don't think it throws off the look of it really..as in making me say "it just looks too long." Nothing's perfect lol. But the kind of stuff that's being put out these days, I really have nothing to complain about. Even if I noticed an error or two, the sheer awe and brilliance of these miniature pieces of art far surpass any quibbles. I know it's a cliché now, but some collectors have become very spoiled and entitled. This minority has got to be the millennial collectors that I haven't been in it like the rest of us for 20+ years. We have gone through more than a few phases of technology with figures....and what they're cranking out now, I would have never dreamed of such realism. Something like the Toys McCoy Indy blew my f-ing mind in 1999. Now, comparing that to the Hot Toys Indy, it looks like a toy. Point is, I am so damn grateful for all of these shrunken down articulated actors. As much of a perfectionist and OCD as I am, for some reason with figures all I feel is gratitude.

Great post!!! My thoughts exactly!

I agree, we have our opinions and it’s ok to have them. I personally have never seen the 1/6 in hand, so my opinions may be invalid honestly. I only have the 1/4 and obviously it’s easier to make proportions look right on a bigger figure. And the 1/4 isn’t perfect either. In hand I think it looks pretty spot on, but when I take pictures of it something looks off, so that may be the case with the 1/6. Side note, the 1/4 is one of my favorite figures in my collection because of the costume layers and different materials. As far as I know, it’s like they shrunk down a movie costume, even the scuba belt that’s under the armor and can barely see. Ideally I’d like them to make a 1/4 ESB version, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen. And yea, the fact that we can have miniature versions of what we see on a screen is amazing. I’m of the younger crowd, but still there was nothing like this when I was growing up. I’m 100% appreciative of what we have today from Hot Toys, Sideshow, etc. It’s really awesome.

Thanks guys! I can definitely say there is lens distortion when taking pictures with a phone. Things can look quite askewed when not using an actual camera. Yeah, that's what impresses me the most with my 1/6 Fett..the sheer amount of layers and items on the thing is mind blowing. You'd think that Fett would look quite tacky with all that crap on, but it only makes them look more badass. OT Chewie is still the most impressive figure I own (or have ever seen); but Boba is right up there. I just got Venkman the other day and man oh man, more impressed than I though I was going to be. I wasn't planning on getting a 2nd Ghostbuster, but just ordered Ray. Wrong thread I know lol - but if anyone's on the fence about them, pick one up if you can. Those figures are just going to keep increasing in value.

I hope they will fix that crappy jet pack issue with this new ESB version. i was having a really hard time stick that stupid jet pack with mine deluxe ROTJ last time, though i broke something during the process lol.

There's a super easy way to put it on. All you have to do is hold the figure upside down. You can get those clips into those tabs soooo much easier that way.

Yeh that was how I used to do mine but it is still overly fiddly.

Perhaps I didn't word it correctly when I said about the thick neck. There is something about the head on shoulders area that throws off the proportions compared to the 1:1 to me though. Maybe it is how the helmet actually sits in the neck I dinno.

Either way this guy is so bought. :)
