I think this figure is a little undersized, but not major.

We can look at actor heights, but as noted that is not a great reference.

Look at Cate Blanchet, she is a little taller than Larson, but we felt the character in the move was almost the height of Thor. Part of this is due to how it is shot, part is due to the stunt person often being a little taller...ect. But when you hold the Hela Hot Toy, it seems a bit too small.

I can see that and I agree. It's all perception of the viewer and how you are experiencing that character in the movie and the scenes that make up that movie.
I guess scale is subjective. No right or wrong about it.

For me it's less about the actual height than about the proportions. Regardless of how tall Blanchett should be in reality, the legs on that figure just looked way too short compared to what we see in the movie, so adding ankle pegs made a world of difference. The Shuri figure had the same exact issue as well, but unfortunately due to the outfit that couldn't be adjusted at all.

The proportions on CM look pretty accurate to me though, so I'll probably be able to live with that part of it.

But Robert Downey Jr is 5'9". I think the argument isn't the actual height of the actors, but rather the portrayal of the characters and how they appeared onscreen together. I think Iron Man figures are too large. Marks 2 and 3 are closer to scale with the figures Hot Toys put out along with what visualized in the movie.

In the end it doesn't matter to me as I'm not picking up Captain Marvel. I think she looks fine, its the Iron Men that are out of scale maybe Hulk and Thanos too?

That is correct. Marks 2 and 3 look like they would would fit a 5' 9" RDJ, but starting with the MK 4, they started making the thighs longer. If you put the HT MK 3 next to the MK 4, all of it is pretty close in size except for the thighs.

Yeah I think the stiff torso is what's really giving this that cheap Mattel action figure look. And looking back through the proto pics it was the same way, so not sure why I didn't notice it until now.

Too bad the body is sewn into the outfit, as I'd love to try a body swap on this. Although I'm sure someone out there will try it anyway.

No ab crunch gives the figure a cheap action figure look? How? What would an ab crunch change about the pictures posted so far? I don't see how anyone can look at the pictures and say the figure looks cheap. This is one of the better looking figures hot toys done recently.

No it doesn't look cheap, but it does still remind me strongly of those cheap toys you see with a solid torso, or like an old Barbie doll. And at least from all the proto and blogger pics I've seen so far, that solid torso prevents you from creating a more natural kind of pose with this. And it doesn't look like you can even angle the hips at all to create a natural standing pose. She's just always going to be standing at attention with her back arched.

I still think I can work with it, but it's definitely going to be more of a struggle than usual.

Your opinion. I can't think of any reasonable pose this figure needs to be put in that requires an ab crunch. Some people buy these figures to proudly put them in all kinds of ugly poses that the real character would never be in.

Nope. You need ab crunch for some simple poses too. Otherwise it will look stiff. If you can't visualise this in your mind, its your problem.

You don't need any ab crunch to put this figure in simple poses. What simple poses are you referring to? Calling it a disgrace because this figure can't do an ab crunch like you want it to is over the top.

Interested to see this figure in hand. Overall the accessories, switchable heads and extensive light up effects are what I hope and expect to see from a solid release. The headsculpt likeness is OKAY, but clearly not a slam dunk like Hela or Yondu, but maybe more in the Thor3 Loki vein (good paint, sculpt, just a little off on likeness.)

For 2020, this probably falls into being a very good release, however falling just short of greatness.

Mine finally broke customs as well. 5 days for that to happen is ridiculous.
Further reason why I stopped buying figures from Hong Kong early, lol.

You'd rather wait 6+ weeks for the US distros to get them and ship to you than 5 extra days in customs from HK? Weird logic there.

Man! all you people getting yours so early really makes me want to stop buying from stores in the UK and just buy direct from eBay XD I am too impatient for this stuff. STILL waiting on my MK7 Iron Man and that was released ages ago now.

Does anybody have a photo of Brie Larson holding the figure? It's fun when the respective actors playing superheroes get these figures.

Do NOT share this photo if you have it... I can't imagine Zurdo surviving that much Captain Marvel goodness!

Sadly, I can imagine it all too well...
