The little odd retcon doesn’t really bother me. And the thing regarding Fury’s eye, I just accepted and moved on. It’s not really a major plot point. Not even a minor one really imo.

And honestly I may have found the de-aging a little bit jarring for the first minute or so, but after that I never really thought about it again.....not until you just mentioned it really. Later on I must have gotten used to it, because I didn’t really notice a thing.

Unfortunately this movie had to deal with all the usual things that have to be dealt with in an origin movie showcasing their first appearance. Imo the only MCU films to have knocked it out of the park in those cases were Iron Man and Guardians.

I guess that's maybe why people aren't talking about the de-aging. It's so good people don't even think about it :)

But you're right about origin films. They're not easy. But Guardians was spectacular. Really hope Gunn can do that for "The" Suicide Squad. A bit hard when you do it a second time. But will surely be better than the first S, that wouldn't be hard....what a train wreck of a script that was.

I recently ordered 2 things at BBTS then cancelled both 8 minutes later, so I’m sure I’m on some kind probationary naughty list now.

Fury definitely says the eye line to Cap, not Pierce.
But either way I can understand why someone might have wished it to be lost mid-dive from an exploding helicopter, etc instead of fuzzy alien. I didn’t mind the detail and laughed, but was also surprised.

Anyone who orders something then 8 minutes later cancels has bigger problems.

One thing this movie has that puts it above most of the MCU garbage is there is no forced BS romance that makes no sense like Civil War for example. I guess they actually had someone with a brain who decided not to insult the audience with something like Aquaman's horrible scene where in the middle of a war on the battleground two people decided that kissing each other was appropriate. Among the dead bodies and blood of their friends, families and enemies no less.

My secret hope, based on about 90% of the posts you make on this site, is that you have a Batman-style origin story where your parents were once ripped off by someone who cancelled an order, and now you have a signal that shines a big “NRD” light in the sky for you to arrive in the nick of time whenever any rando makes the fatal mistake of saying, to no one in particular, that they cancelled something online. :wink1:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that way too. The way they made it happen is ridiculous and undermines everything we thought before. :thud:

Ditto. Tho re 'net comments there's plenty who feel negatively about the handling of certain tie-ins. I'm just ignoring it the way I ignore any other poor writing that desperately tries to milk greater works for effect. Like a lot of bad fan fiction, Jaws 3, and spin-off TV series. IMO not canon, because clearly previous works - unlike Wakanda and BP that were hinted at early on in the MCU, this is just bad writing from - as one YT-tuber pointed out - a lot of writers on this film.

Kinda surprised me 'coz it's not the kind of movie IMO that needs a lot of writers, but IMO that's never a good thing - hard to have a consistent tone. Or even know or care if your writers have any kind of comics background, even know or care about the MCU etc. Unlike the original 10 year writers and directors.

Re the fig - if I were into the character I'd grab this one tho, and the next one - only because who knows if and when there will be another CM movie. That's just because now Disney has a huge group of characters to play with now. They've thought about and dropped movies before. Just because Disney says something doesn't mean they'll follow through. Also hard to say when audiences will just get superhero movie fatigue.

While I totally disagree with your MCU garbage comment, I do agree that that I cringed during that and a couple of others in Aquaman. But having said that I still highly enjoyed Aquaman. I watched it twice in the theatres and am going to watch it again today probably as I just finished downloaded it, and I’ve also preordered the 4K disc. As I mentioned that was one of the few moments/scenes I was rewriting in my head on the drive home after watching it the first time. That and the Queen scene at the end. I believe it would’ve been better for her to rescue Vulko instead of Mera, instead of suddenly appearing at the end in a change of outfit. And I do think the body count caused by Aquaman’s ‘actions’ at the end was a bit excessive. I think the creatures should’ve been used more as a delaying force rather than a destructive force, not to say it wasn’t exciting to watch though.

You people just order and cancel on a whim. I feel sorry for whoever your kind "buys" from. Every retailer needs to slap NRDs on all figures.

Why would you feel sorry for someone that gets FREE Non-Refundable Deposit's?
I'm pretty sure anything hot toys has NRD's

I’m not seeing it until Sunday. I’m not super excited about it, but I’ll be happy that Marvel social media can stop shoving it down our throats. Still don’t like the idea of a “deus ex machina” type role in Endgame. I wanna see our hero’s who we’ve loved for years overcome the obstacle, not tag in OP super star.

This was my biggest qualm with it when I first found out about it. Like we've had all these years to build up these heroes for this moment, but now suddenly there's this new character that we've never heard of before (in the movie universe) and its gonna go all superman at the end of justice league on us.

I don’t feel like the Russo brothers would do that. But if it does play out that way the MCU will be done because so many fans men and women would be sooo turned off from that. Why make Thor so powerful now just to get played like that?

Doesn't the Hulk beat Loki in the first Avengers?
How about Vision and Scarlet Witch beating Ultron?
Who were the stars of Infinity War? All of the new Avengers and Guardians?

I mean, this is pretty standard practice in the MCU now. They use the collaborative movies to highlight the new characters. I fully expect Captain Marvel to help them win, just like Ant-Man is going to play a big role. And I'll have no issue with it.

You and the people who feel that way are totally insignificant as the box office is showing. Stay angry my friend.

Then why be so angry and compelled to call them names for simply choosing to spend their money and time elsewhere? They don’t want to see it, they don’t want to see it. No harm, no foul.

The original poster may, or may not have been sarcastic.

Though all the real troll posting will probably have some affect on the box office as many people unfortunately do get persuaded one way or the other by their social ties. But with the numbers coming out now, it had a lot less effect than I thought it would have, as I was thinking it might be something along the lines of the damage caused by TLJ/Solo which I personally didn’t mind either film (didn’t love them, but didn’t hate them either). But I’m thinking they may lose 10% (arbitrary number) at the domestic box office (and internationally probably a negligible %), and even those numbers still equate to a big chunk of change.
