I agree regarding Cap. Tony I would be inclined to agree as well, but I also kind of feel they did his “sacrifice play” in the same film in which he was accused of not being willing to make that play, when he took the incoming missle and brought it to space, knowing that it could very likely be a one way trip.

My sentiments as well.

I agree. I hope they don't play the sacrifice note again for Tony.

I could very easily see Cap dying and Tony finally retiring and starting a family with Pepper.

Ever since the first Avengers, the threat of Thanos has been what has kept Tony from settling down.

Cap is a man out of time, and with Peggy gone, and with his bucking of a system that he feels no longer works for him, a final self-sacrificing act would be a good way for the character to go out.

Both would be good arcs for the respective characters to go out on.

For me, they would be making the same mistake as the Matrix if they kill Tony.
On the Matrix 2nd movie, Trinity died, we had our shock value, but then Neo brought her back from the dead. And...only for her to die again on the 3rd movie.

Watching IF, we all know some are not gonna make it, so when Thanos stabbed Tony, we had our shock value. I remember gasping, shocked that Tony was indeed the big death in the movie.
But then Tony did live.
So the shock value has been done. If they kill him again, it would be redundant and now annoying and not as significant anymore.

Its Cap that I'm worried about. He's my favorite Marvel Hero.
I hope whatever they plan for him, it would be a good send off. I wish him a good ending.

.

Cap clearly doesn't value Peggy. She just died and be decided that kissing her niece who is young enough to be his daughter the thing to do? Naw he forgot Peggy as soon as she stopped breathing.

No one will die. Disney doesn't have the balls to kill any of their main, legacy cast. They won't do it because $$$.

I hope none of the important characters die. I don't see anything "cool" about killing off characters. Don't know how anyone would find something cool about that.

I don't think it's cool but i think it's needed. I would rather see them go out on a heroic note than dragged out for years until we start get sick of seeing them. RDJ/Stark is my favorite actor/charcter in the MCU but i am actually hoping he dies in this. RDJ even said he wants out before fans start growing tired of him. Endgame would be a perfect time for that.

Besides that Marvel is getting a bunch of new charcters to play with from X-Men and the Fantastic Four at midnight tonight. It would get a little crowded to keep everyone.

Gotta disagree with you on that. :lol

Well, to be fair, I suppose WB execs and higher ups bare a substantial amount of blame too. They, for whatever reason, decided to give him the keys to the entire cinematic castle just cause he was the first one to direct a DC movie at that point during WB's haphazard attempt to create a universe.

Also this may sound controversial but I believe Christopher Nolan deserves blame too since he was instrumental in selecting Hack Snyder to helm MoS. For whatever reason Nolan was sold on Snyder's vision, which ultimately turned out to be a turd fest. MoS is decent, but that's only in comparison to BvS and JL...the latter 2 were complete and utter letdowns.

I quite liked Zack’s vision myself. I enjoyed MoS, and I personally think BvSUE is the best modern superhero film.

I thought he did a good job with what he had to work with, as I think a big part of it is the studio not really having any set plan, and like you said, seemingly haphazardly making it up as they went along. I concur though that JL could have been a lot better. I thought it was decent, but it should have been better.

Yeah...a shame Hack Snyder destroyed the entire DCEU before it even had a chance to begin.

Do you ever have anything positive to say? Don't get me wrong, it's not like you're rude like some people, but you are one of the most pessimistic people I've seen on here since Malgus, and even he has turned it around a bit.

There are plenty of ways for a character to leave without killing them. I don't get this obsession with killing off characters that a few fans have. For years those people were calling for deaths and I suspect they will be very disappointed if Marvel doesn't fulfill their death wish in Endgame.

I agree with this. I really enjoyed MOS and BVSUE was really good in my opinion. Wonder Woman was great and set a new standard for DC but Justice league let me down a little bit though I still thought it was decent.

Yep 100% my thoughts as well. BVSUE was so much more than just a popcorn movie. I always wonder what would have happened had Justice League been better ?

Had we gotten the BvSUE from the start as opposed to the theatrical, I firmly believe it would have made the 1 billion mark. The vast majority of reviews when that released were a 180 from the theatrical, in saying that it was much improved and more coherent and cohesive. BvS had a very strong opening weekend, but then took a precipitous plunge. The strong opening weekend tells me the interest was there, the theatrical film just didn’t live up. I think the choppy theatrical version probably helped contribute to a poor BO showing with JL, as there wasn’t much interest (I doubt the casual movie goer was aware of the UE, so they never saw that prior to JL). WW was successful and widely acclaimed as being a good film, but I don’t think that was enough to save JL, as nothing from WW really tied into JL.

Had they released the much better BvSUE from the start, I think JL probably would have gone the same course as the BvS theatrical did. Strong opening weekend due to interest, but was a mediocre film, so would have plunged after that. It probably would have finished in the 800 million mark.

It’s a shame Whedon got involved and changed some things because as I mentioned, I quite liked what Zack did with MoS and BvS. Had he stayed to finish JL/his vision through and then stepped away for personal reasons, I personally think it would have been a better film.
