You did say all. I just checked the film and couldn't find one shot.

Those fancy boots may be for close ups or medium shots but I don't think they were ever meant to be seen on film. Every long shot has her in the regular Hoth boots.

I just un-learned something today...

The lower boots really aren't all that visible in much of the movie from what I recall, and also they were designed to hide the lift/no-lift thing (ie there's an angled design to the foot area that makes it harder to see if it has the lift or not.)

I seem to remember thinking the lift style boots are basically the Bespin Escape shoes/boots that had been wrapped.

I'd really have to dig through the movie. Here's the only pic I have accessible alongside SS's pic. They are clearly the same lift style boots seen in SS's pic, and this is a screen capture from the movie:

Again, I just looked at all Leia scenes... couldn't make out those boots. I think they were for tight shots, likely more comfortable for Carrie.

Perhaps they appear incidentally, but those boots are meant to be in the movie about as much as Tarkin's slippers.

Here's actual movie screenshots I literally took with my phone...

The lift/heel boots (which have a zipper on the inner side) appear in all scenes where she interacts with Han. In shots where she doesn't, she has the flats. She is in the lifts more than the flats in ESB.

Wait -- which is it?

Her Bespin escape boots are white heeled...

Jesus. I have top people working on it right now.:lol

Yeah, I just had a look too. It seems to me like Leia's are a bit like Luke's Mukluks - there seem to be be maybe three different styles.

The flats ones seem to be used where she has to run or do stunts, such as the asteroid cave and the dash to the Falcon in the Hoth base, though the pic I posted above shows the highest-heel version used in a "stunt" type moment as they are rushing back inside the Falcon in the cave.

As far as I can tell, there seems to be a flat style, a "regular" lift style (seen below) and then a higher-heel style seen in the pics above. All three appear onscreen.

I'm going to have a look through my "making of" pic stash later because you really can't see the boots 100% clearly in the movie. And as I said, there is an angled design to the shoe area that further obscures it.

What's funny about this pic is she has regular lifts, but is also raised on the wooden board - shorty Carrie:

No, what I meant is that if you look at SS's original pic, it appears to be a heeled boot that has been completely wrapped in grey fabric. You can see the fabric has bowed in places, making it look like a booted heel that's been entirely wrapped in fabric.

Yep -- I noticed that too in the ice hall -- obviously they didn't want the trendy high-heels so they gave her a grating. :lol

I did look at that specific scene when the Falcon is rocking, and its so fast I couldn't tell what she's wearing. But she moves into a close-up so maybe she kept her comfy boots on thinking her feet wouldn't be seen.

But yeah, pretty sure Carrie wore those boots whenever she could on set because they are likely more comfortable for her (some girls love heels) but for wide shots they definitely defaulted to the "screen look" boots.

HT wins again.

Incidentally, I only see two different boots: the regular ones like in the ice hall above (the "screen used" boots) and the high-heeled ones I think were never meant to be on-screen.

What's the third boot? Pic?

Thanks for all the positive feedback on those last couple of shots, everyone!

My apologies in advance. I'm trying to nail this portrait, and I tend to get a bit obsessive with such things.

Here is the latest. Getting closer I think. I promise, it’s not EXACTLY the same as the last two shots, lol. Let me know what you think...
