I actually got my hopes up for this movie after this trailer..

Didn't the same thing happen when we all saw the trailer for AvP-R? Don't forget the whole point of a trailer is to get you to want to see the film. A good trailer doesnt gurantee a good film.

I have a feeling that this movie is going to have to be seen as an all new Terminator future, not matching the one Cameron created. This new Terminator-Human hybrid idea where it's a Terminator that doesn't know it's not human is an interesting concept.

That would be the only purpose that Skynet would have in making them non-self-aware. Kinda like Quaid in Total Recall - the perfect mole or "sleeper".

Yeah, quite Blade Runner (amonst others), throws up a whole new (and more interesting) dynamic. The 'rights' of sentient AI is a thing I've always found interesting.

I thought Bicentennial Man was a better and great story about a robot's struggle for it's rights.

saw a little peek on Entertainment tonight last night and it looks better every time I see something new.

It showed and Endo ripped in half still crawling after ppl and how the world is just a mess. I cannot wait to see this movie!!!

Argh, ended up ordering the T700 and the 600 (? - that bid mother ended up being too cool to pass up)......anyone think Hot Toys will re-release their shiny T800 someday? Not wanting to pay $300 for it on the secondary market!

Don't know how people could think this might be a bad movie.

Apart from the fact its directed by McG , you mean? I hope I'll like it and am looking fwd to it but IMO here are my reasons:

1). No James Cameron or even original co-writer William Wisher
2) Long awaited sequels to franchises of the 80s have all been disappointing (lately).
3) It looks nothing like the dark dirty future we saw in T1/T2
4) The whole "this isnt the future my mother warned me about" is just a cheap excuse to change everything and destroy what we grew to love, follow, accept and understand for the past 25 yrs.
5) CG Terminators - I'm gonna miss the stop-motion and animatronics that made them look so cool.
6) Giant robots, mototerminators, hydrobots and 8ft tall T-600s plus Reese never mentioned T-700s let alone T-600's height.

I also didnt like in the trailer that they had to use a rock song for it. It gave it that mainstream/cash-in feel and it made the film feel less "serious". I know T2 used G n' R but at least it wasn't all over the trailer. Oh and I'm just betting this'll be PG-13 (see point #2).

100% agree with this.
The worst of course is a batpods & transformers. Kills atmosphere.
8ft tall T-600 with a ripped-off skin of course makes "future people" veeeeeeery stupid, if we remember what Reese said to Sarah. But at least he looks very cool & a 100% Terminator-like & who knows, maybe super-version of a T-600 with a living tissue is even in our real time, NOW :

Well time travel can end up unravelling itself, and the theory behind Quantum physics (which is lazily used to explain every paradox, but it theoretically works well) is that every possible past and every possible future already do or will exist, it purely down to the mechanics of engineering which future you exist in, I.E there is a John Connor in that future, but not this one.
