I bring to the jury:

Exhibit A: Reign of Fire
Exhibit B: Shaft

:lol:lol ok, most films... :lol

3) It looks nothing like the dark dirty future we saw in T1/T2

im guessing its 10 or so years before the t1 future (reese looks like a little kid in the trailer) maybe the war isnt in full motion yet. i dunno :dunno i think you may need to take this film with a pinch of salt :lol

Apart from the fact its directed by McG , you mean? I hope I'll like it and am looking fwd to it but IMO here are my reasons:

1). No James Cameron or even original co-writer William Wisher
2) Long awaited sequels to franchises of the 80s have all been disappointing (lately).
3) It looks nothing like the dark dirty future we saw in T1/T2
4) The whole "this isnt the future my mother warned me about" is just a cheap excuse to change everything and destroy what we grew to love, follow, accept and understand for the past 25 yrs.
5) CG Terminators - I'm gonna miss the stop-motion and animatronics that made them look so cool.
6) Giant robots, mototerminators, hydrobots and 8ft tall T-600s plus Reese never mentioned T-700s let alone T-600's height.

I also didnt like in the trailer that they had to use a rock song for it. It gave it that mainstream/cash-in feel and it made the film feel less "serious". I know T2 used G n' R but at least it wasn't all over the trailer. Oh and I'm just betting this'll be PG-13 (see point #2).

I liked Reign of Fire. :lol

I think this looks cool and I'll give it a chance. I would be upset if this was a remake of T1 or T2, which it isn't.

I think the song was perfect. And I wouldn't compare NIN's to G n R. NIN's is an Industrial band that rose out of the late 80s.Some of their music, but not all of it,has rock elements to it but it also has synth and electro as well. Even the rock elements of their music doesn't have that rock feel. It sounds more of a electronic/synth rock, hence the coined phrase Industrial music

I think the beginning part of the NIN's song "The day the world went away" where it goes wah.. wah.. wah..wah.... wah.. wah.. wah..wah.... is very complimentary to the original score in T-1. It sounds mechanical and menacing.

You mis-understood me.

When I said I didn't like that a rock song was on the trailer, I wasn't talking about the actual song or the band or the genre of music - What I meant was that I didn't like that a ("pop") song was used. I'd have much preferred a more sophisticated and "mature" instrumental or orchestral score and not so much a popcorn music video feel.

I think having a "pop" song on there is part of the McG influence - he is a music video director after all and probably wants to make the movie "hip" and very mainstream. The previous films tried to be very "serious" and dramatic films and I think adding a pop song to an action movie immediately takes away that "seriousness". Imagine a "pop" song on the trailer for something like Aliens or Predator - to me it's just not fitting.

Oh, I see.

Hopefully the trailer isn't pretty awesome and the movie sucks. :lol
That would suck.
Either way I know imo this wont touch the original movies , T1 and T2 anyway.
Think of all the excitment around T3 and because it wasn't as amazing as terminator 1 and 2 it let so many people down.

Same with avp and avp-r too for alot of people.
This movie could be awesome but I personally am trying not to get too excited.

If it is awesome in the end and I wasn't excited , it turns out even better anyway. :rock

Bale has refused the use of his voice and likeness in the T4 game.

The Playmates figure is wearing a mask to cover likeness.

DC Direct have yet to show their Connor bust.

Might not be a HT Connor figure.

I'm wondering if HT would go the mask route as well? I know there is a Bale likeness in their Military line, is the head shaved like it is the movie? It might not be hard to kitbash...

that will suck if we don't get a Connor:banghead:banghead
I'm pretty sure we'll get one this year - not only is he the lead character but he is also in cool-looking outfit and weapons. HT might give us a moustachioed head but so what? He's easily customable with the right head.

Imagine Bale "Baleing-out" at HT when he finds out they disguised his likness with a moustache, "DO YOU WANT ME TO TRASH YOUR FIGS???!"

My thoughts exactly. Bale skyrocketing the "badass" level of the character to celestial heights is something that's going to draw people to see this movie who haven't even been fans of the franchise. The helicopter landing on the crippled Terminator, only for him to leap from the chopper and plant two rounds in its cranium is a really badass taste of the John Connor in this movie.

I didnt think that was badass at all - he shot a terminator when it was already down. And I really dont like that the bullets just seeme to bounce off the skull and do no damage but then again it wouldnt. Just how effective are the weapons the resistence have in this film???

While not that bad ass, I think it was totally in character. Growing up these machines hunted him, and countless times in the movies, he thought the machines were destroyed, only to see them pop back up and try to kill him again.

i ordered the regular one trough joe last week but having the option to switch the base for the exclusive is kinda cool though.

I'm just getting the regular one. Thank god the exclusive isn't anything particularly cool - I'm spending a bloody fortune as it is.
