Maulfan - can't wait to see pics man!! yes, smoke will be awesome in those shots.

pjam - hopefully Adam checked mine too as i didn't ask him.

Les - will most probably want a lesterfication of my Alien too, down the road!

Reiny: It's Lesterization but I like Lesterfication too. :lol Although that would mean it is Lesterfied, not Lesterized. :lol I hope yours is great too, I'm sure it'll be fine!

Speaking of which, yeah Les, there will be playtime first and thanks for the comments bro. :D

Well, since I'm still living at home displaying with limited space and furniture, I'll not be having a setup as elaborate as Les discussed anytime soon, BUT I will some day, I have BIG plans for a personal museum of my things some day with each display being fitting for the subject, not for consitency between spots.

As for images, just because I don't have the actual materials doesn't stop me from making images with those elements. Once my life settles down a bit again, I full plan on doing more shots of the Warrior and more images that incorporate Hicks with it, and some of those action shots will utilize smoke and other elements, more photoshopped images instead of straight photography, get back to what's become my speciality, I've strayed from it trying to keep up with all the things I've gotten in the past year, but I intend to budget out my time and really roll out some nice stuff, I know some of you have thought well of some of my stuff I've done of late, but I know myself and I know I can do even better, and I intend to.

Just a quick update on something I think DekDave said when I first got my ALiens guy...I used a generic wooden stand, something from Walmart I think. Nothing special, except it held it well, but looked wrong with the other figures. I had trouble with the Hot Toys stands...making them hold this warrior as he is so damn tall and top heavy!

But...

Problem solved!:D
Use a Sideshow metal base grasper, not the Hot Toys one. The Hot Toys ones are not tall enough, and has just a 90 degree angled rings, and the Sideshow ones are much taller, and have an extra half inch offset at the bend, that allows for the Alien's back spines to fit in safely, and also allows for some placement.

Here is mine in a nice, Hot Toys ALIENS stand at last!

AlienHTbase01.jpg

I had to bend the metal neck of the stand down some at the corner to the grasping segment, then back about a third of the way down the length, to allow the weight to be properly distributed over the smallish base. It takes some bending and testing to get it right, but once balanced, the HT base works like a dream, and sets it right in with Rip and the Marines. I will label him soon as

LV-426 - Extro-XENOMORPH
ALIEN WARRIOR

Hope this helps anyone else thinking of a base for their's.

Geez, that thing is amazing looking Les! Thanks for the stand tip! I def want a stand, use 'em for all my figs...

I'll take a pic of the stand by itself Paul, so you can see what to do with it a bit better.
If anyone has a better tag info for the nameplate, let me know, That is all I could come up with. :D

Thanks!
I was looking for a suitable stand for my aliens. :D

My nameplates will say:

LV-426 Encounter
WARRIOR ALIEN

Bouvetøya Encounter
WARRIOR ALIEN

I had to do the same thing with my Robocop, use the Sideshow metal part. The hot toys one just had him standing too close at the back to the stand, very restrictive in posing him naturally

Oooh... mine is close now. Just checked the Quantum view and he's in Oklahoma City, less than an hour drive.

Too bad UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays :monkey2:monkey2

Got mine a few days ago.

I frickin' LOVE this thing!
This is my first Hot Toys purchase (stupidly missed out on the AvP/USCM stuff) and it won't be my last. Definately a very "Takeya-ish" sculpt.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of mixing the HT and SST stands,, I just use the SST one, but it's a good tip in order to keep the same "look" for all Aliens figures...

After a brief hiatus from my work, I finally got going again. Here are the crawlers, I'll convert it to wallpapers soon.
