Just a quick update on something I think DekDave said when I first got my ALiens guy...I used a generic wooden stand, something from Walmart I think. Nothing special, except it held it well, but looked wrong with the other figures. I had trouble with the Hot Toys stands...making them hold this warrior as he is so damn tall and top heavy!
But...
Problem solved!
Use a Sideshow metal base grasper, not the Hot Toys one. The Hot Toys ones are not tall enough, and has just a 90 degree angled rings, and the Sideshow ones are much taller, and have an extra half inch offset at the bend, that allows for the Alien's back spines to fit in safely, and also allows for some placement.
Here is mine in a nice, Hot Toys ALIENS stand at last!
I had to bend the metal neck of the stand down some at the corner to the grasping segment, then back about a third of the way down the length, to allow the weight to be properly distributed over the smallish base. It takes some bending and testing to get it right, but once balanced, the HT base works like a dream, and sets it right in with Rip and the Marines. I will label him soon as
LV-426 - Extro-XENOMORPH
ALIEN WARRIOR
Hope this helps anyone else thinking of a base for their's.
