It really was a terrible year for us DC fans. Two new figures and one of those with a rehashed head sculpt.

I can’t believe people are complaining about a classic comic style costume.

Sorry. I guess I took your post as you were just generally disappointed with the whole event itself.

Whoa Mera looks great - any chance of a figure of her?
Yeah it was a really sparse showing from Hot Toys when it came to DC characters. I knew it would be like that to an extent, but was convinced we’d see more than what we did. Why no Shazam figure? That at least is a property with a movie coming out. Or maybe we’ll see that one next year?
Can you blame them? Given the state and reception of the previous DCEU films (aside from WW), the ambiguity of what is to come with this film, and the existence of an Aquaman they are already committed to making and want preorders on? Yeah if I were in their shoes I wouldn't have even shown this figure. I'd at most had a sign saying 'Aquaman 1/6 collectible figures coming soon'.
And what else are they to show DC related? They've pretty much shown they aren't going to pursue the vintage Batman line anymore, which can you blame them? That's a very small audience again to try to cater to, the intersection of Classic Bats and high end figure collectors. There's no hype for 80s/90s Batman right now, so what are they to market Penguin or Catwoman on?
That leaves the Wonder Woman (who's set herself to be seller regardless of source material), their slowly expanding Arkhamverse, (which is gilded as a fantastic line and as close to a comic line as they'll get), and the one that's transcended time - the Nolan films. That's the only one I'm surprised we didn't see any new material for, but everything else was fulfilled.
So really, I don't blame HT for the small DC showing. I wouldn't want to commit to producing 90% of DC content now anyway, especially seeing how so much of the Suicide Squad content is still laying around, as are slots for JL preorders. They're working within a strange time for DC merch.
Overall DC stuff sells VERY well. OK if they are skipping current movie figures where is a new Ledger Joker? They could stlll do Nolan era stuff and EARLIER stuff. BR Catwoman? Penguin? Romero Joker and Batgirl?

BvS wasn't well received and all those figures sold really well. All the other DC figure lines and Prime 1 have made each of the JL characters. Zero excuse for HT skipping Cyborg and then wondering why people are cancelling pre-orders on the others.
Plenty of DC stuff they could have done outside of the current DCEU anyway. What a waste of time that Kevin Feige figure will be. There is more demand for that than a Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman....really?
Batfleck in 1/4 scale would sell out very fast. Keaton & Reeve would be popular in that scale to. They could have done something interesting like a Lynda Carter Wonder Woman or actually release that 1/4 scale Arnold from T1 they teased years back.
HT were far more interesting 5 years ago. When the current MCU has run it's course they might regret alienating so many collectors with the endless Iron Man crap.
