Good pics, though I'm pretty unimpressed with this release. Unlike the Predators which are all plastic realistic painted bodies, this figure just looks garish and cartoonish to me. I realize it has painted on warpaint, but for $300 give or take I dont see how its a drastic improvement over this $10 one:

Yes sure the details are better, the accessories are better and the paint is better but the difference isn't as vast as it is from other 6 inch figures to 12'' figures. It has some nice weapons and I like the base, but you do get what you pay for...to an extent. For $300, while a large figure, it doesnt have a complex outfit like others in the line and those pics posted above reveal quite a bit of sloppy paint on the small parts. I don't think Hot Toys should be bothering with these at all though. I cant see them making many more other than the girl monkey.

Maybe the source material is to blame. I think Hot Toys did as much as they can with it

Well, I disagree with you completely. HT had to create a whole new body for this figure, which is where the cost comes in. You say it doesn't have a complex outfit like others, but this is how the character is depicted in the movie.

You don't sound like you're much of a fan of the film with your "girl monkey" comment anyway, so why should you care that HT are bothering with this line?

The difference between a HT figure & that thing is huge & if you can't tell the difference then get the ____ out of here because your just waisting your time & our time talking about something you clearly know nothing about :lol

Exactly the same thing happened mine Eamon. The easiest thing to do is get a small screw, twist it in until it gets a grip then pull out the broken peg with it, at least that's what I did.

Really? On the Avatar figure?

I tried that but I think the screw I got was too big. So what kinda screw are we talking here, a long thin one or a small shirt one?

Yep, it happened on Jake after about 5 minutes out of the box. I actually posted it here at the time. A small, thin as possible screw (has to have a sharp tip) did it for me. After a bit of complete panic about what to do! Get the tip of it to screw into the buried peg (the plastic is quite soft) and as soon as it has a grip, pull it out with the screw. I used a grips to do this. Thankfully I managed to do it without damaging the figure at all. I have NEVER had a problem with wrist pegs before so it is definitely an issue with Jake. Hope this helps mate.

Yes the main problem is getting a good grip on the forearm to allow the screw to get a purchase.
Thanks dude I will try again with a smaller screw.

If that fails, I will try the drill idea, though I fear that one.

Not sure why you guys are entertaining such a daft post! :cuckoo:

yup, you are correct.!

Yeah give it a go, I can guarantee it works, and you don't actually have to make contact with any visible parts of the figure..excuse the scribble, but you get the idea.. worked for me..

By dremmel I assume you mean a small drill bit head?

Are we essentially talking about breaking up that piece that's broken off into fragments so it will just crumble and fall out?

Yep, pretty much. I just used the small drill bit and that does the trick.

Ive tried other methods w/o success, but this one has always worked. Just use a small drill so you have a lot if room to work with.

I was told he does in a more crouched pose. I have him in an action pose with bent knees and he's barely taller than classic predator if that helps

Guys, does he fit in the detolf? In case I purchase him one day...

Yes it does and you do not need to have him on his knees if you don't want to.
You can give him a really cool crouched pose. The bottom shelf is taller than the other too.

As for my Avatar problem, I got that sucker out!!! :)

The sucket is a little looser now though but I will scrape the inside to hole to help stiffen things up unless you have another brain wave for me Rory?

I can tell the difference. Like I said, for what it is, it's good. It does suck that people are encountering problems with the hand pegs though. Shouldn't be happening at this price point. I guess I'm just surprised more than anything that this exists in 1/6th.
