^^ I'll worry about that when I get him ;) I know a few people are going to take a shelf out in there Detolf but I don't really want to do that. I'll probably just put him on top of it

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

I haven't pulled th trigger on this one yet, but I'm reeeeally leaning towards POing it. Luckily, I think the price has kept folks from POing this thing so I think/hope I still have plenty of time to decide

and I think that's why HT made Jake first. I'm sure they knew that many wanted Neytiri the most. Making Jake leaves hope and demand to have Neytiri even more. If they showed Neytiri first, I think they know that sales for Jake wouldn't be so high. I think more will buy Jake with hope that he produces enough sales for them to green light Neytiri if they haven't already decided to make her.

The way I see it is, you can have Neytiri without Jake, but Jake without Neytiri leaves something to be desired from the Avatar Display

From a female point of view, I can be happy with just having Jake, however seeing as most collectors are male, they're going to want to have Neytiri. This was the reason I didn't buy the SS Neytiri, I didn't just want to have her if there wasn't going to be a Jake, however they are making a Jake one now, so I may decide to pick up both.

I'm sure they will do a Neytiri to go with this Jake, hopefully a battle cry version, which makes it completely different to the Legacy and SS statues.

On the subject of price, it doesn't seem so high now compared to Hot Toys' newest Pre Orders. Looks like this is becoming a very expensive hobby.

Man, Jake is just ridiculously huge :lol Very excited about this one :rock

Eh? we haven't even seen the Jake pf yet so how can the likeness be better? All the people saying 1/6 is better than PF's etc in here make me laugh, 90% of your collection is 1/6 so your never going to say everything different are you? :lol

True, but I've owned 3 PFs and not one of them has paint work that is as good as what HT has been doing in 1/6 for the past few years. The PF clothing is about as good; but certainly not better than what HT is producing. So when I say $300 for a figure like this isn't too far out of line (being it is roughly the same size as a PF) I feel I'm being pretty fair in my assessment.

Yeah i know the paint is amazing on HT, but i was meaning the people that can't help themselves in making out everything HT does is god like and everything SSC does is junk. :lol

I collect from both but that just does my head in.

I see what you mean, I love both companies too. And even though I recognize HT quality tends to be a bit more refined; they are also (generally) a lot more expensive so straight across comparison's aren't really fair.

:exactly:

Just collect what you like and don't run down what others like to collect. :)

:exactly: Good post and I agree that Hot Toys quality is a bit more refined.

There's no reason to talk smack just because one collector's opinion differs from another.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

The shelving units I use for my collection are open on the top... so I'm pretty sure I can have Jake (and Netyri if she is released) on one of the top shelves.

I think I'm going to have to get a custom case made for Jake and Neytiri.

The display cases I have now would only allow for crouching positions.

I hope they give us slightly different dio bases as well.

Re: Avatar: 1/6th scale Avatar Jake Sully Collectible Figure

Agreed. I loves me some Sideshow and Hot Toys stuff. :D
:hi5:
:exactly: Me too, although at the moment i'm on a HT kick, only got 1 SSC item ordered at the mo. The Apocalypse com will likely change that.

Yea I hear you man. Same here. I've got loads of HT on PO and just 1 SS Star Wars figure on PO. But similar to you, once the 1/6 General Grievous goes up for PO, my direction will turn to strictly SW me thinks
