I hope they come out so I can pass on them.

The Big Chap Alien was probably a one-off body. Same with some of the Iron Men. With Avatar, there is an opportunity to do several of the Avatar aliens with the same body.

yeah, but in good solid 12 inches in height.:lol

Pretty sure HT will reveal the Avatar figures this December. That's when the movie first hit theaters lat year, that's when the 2010 announcements were made (more or less). It just seems... right to show them then.

I'd rather them delay and do something decent than put out something no one will buy.

Hot Toys is making The Last Airbender figures?

Sweet! :rock

They've pretty much already done that

I'm guessing they weren't sure originally if Avatar would be successful enough so when they announced the license they hadn't actually done anything yet

NEW HOT TOYS AVATAR PROTO PIC

I really like that jungle backdrop Hot Toys used to display that prototype.

Well I loved the movie as a spectacle - you'd have to admit the environments in 3D are stunning. But as for characters, they're all forgettable. Maybe Sideshow could pick up a few of the beasts as marquettes, but Hot Toys 1/6? *yawn.

I have to say I finally watched this on HBO in 2D and it really didn't hold my attention.

This movie is just OK without the WOW factor of 3D.

I really don't see how the Na'vi would be any more advanced from an R & D standpoint than the Berzerker Predator. Large scratch built body, head to toe body paint, some fancy weapons and accessories and they're good to go. I fully expect them to cost well over $200 but I don't understand the delay either.

But there's one little thing you're forgetting.

Interesting Berserker Predator Alien human hunter > Tall, lanky tribal smurf

And hell, I'm not even a huge Predator fan. I'll take some lasers, guns, and ____ your pants scary designs over blatant tree hugging crap for my 1/6 figures.

Yeah, I'm kind of a ____ but really. Predators have proven in the past that they're made of $$$ so of course Hot Toys would put in a little more effort with a license of gold in their laps. Would $200 dollar Na'Vi really be that huge in the collecting community? I don't think so.

Is that why the exclusive Neytiri maquette has more than twice the ES of the Falconer Predator maquette and is sold out? Because there's a greater demand for high end Predator collectibles?

i dunno, but tall and skinny rubber figure= expensive, fragile and brittle and will drive loyal fans :gah: overtime.

Good point. How many Pred fans have considered suicide because they couldn't live on the Predator planet? They just aren't as serious about their franchise.
