Yeah I continue to be amazed at just how difficult HT makes it to activate and use their light up features. Whether it's having to crack open Iron Man armor, reach up sleeves, or open up hoods and panels. It's like they go out of their way to make it as annoying and inconvenient as possible. LolFunny how hot toys has zero consideration for user friendly features.
It must be a given that a lot of people have their collection behind some sort of casing and large vehicles are likely to end up on the bottom or top of most shelving, which makes them less convenient to frequently access to turn lights on and off.
A remote or even a control panel attached to the usb power cable allowing for on/off and cycling through settings would obviously be far more convenient and is hardly new or complicated technology.
I did the decals on Marty this week. Using decal soften and warm water. The tyres by comparison are dead easy. Was the application easy? I may.. do it.. May because my car will be in hover mode for like 100% of the time lol.
Yeah, wish the '89 Batmobile had just had a switch underneath the back of the car. Having to take off the rear panel has always been a nuisance. You end up not bothering because to fully appreciate the lit-up car you obviously want to put the panel back on after you turn on the lights. But since you also don't want to wear out the batteries or the LEDs you're not gonna leave the lights on for very long so then you very soon have to remove the panel again to turn them off. Too much of a chore, like the Iron Men.Yeah I continue to be amazed at just how difficult HT makes it to activate and use their light up features. To me this is inexcusable at this stage of the company’s time in the high market collectible game. NO EXCUSE HOT TOYSI think the problem is HT are a reasonably small group of core people and their specialist skills are sculpting and painting and definitely not electronics. And rather than go and get the best people in the field they save money and just stumble through it themselves.
Completely agree. If it came across I was creating excuses for them, I guess I was, but it is a common and terrible example of a company taking advantage of their customers. To me this is inexcusable at this stage of the company’s time in the high market collectible game. NO EXCUSE HOT TOYS
…as if they read any of this lol…
I cancelled mine too. Luckily I have the Part 1 car which was always my preferred variant, so I'm not totally heartbroken, but being in the U.K. & having ordered from Sideshow I figured it wasn't worth the risk of it arriving with issues & having to be sent back.Cancelled mine with a heavy heart. Missed out on the original Delorean because of a scam and always hoped they'd release a part 2. Dreams dashed. This thing has more issues than the actual real life car!
What were you estimating would be your total cost with shipping, customs and the fedex hostage charges?I cancelled mine too. Sideshow did actually agree to refund my NRD which was kind of them - I was prepared to lose it, although I do have quite a lot of other items pre-ordered with them so who knows if that helped...
Added the white walls today. This was an absolute must for me.

+1I'm really sad to see everyone canceling theirs. I wished I had come here earlier to post about mine and assure everyone that it was flawless. Absolutely no issues whatsoever.
I honestly think everyone that wanted one should get it and take their chances. You have to remember that people that had issues are most likely to be more vocal about it then the ones (like me) that got one in perfect condition but they are still in the minority.
Looks amazing, man! Mind telling me where you got those decals? I haven't been checking this thread much. Are there other improvements or mods out there for this DeLorean, that you know of?
I'm the same. There are issues but Sideshow will replace them and pay for the shipping. They gave me $85 back because I had a tight wire which I have easily sorted. The good things outweigh the poor things.+1
Since it's highly likely I'm never going to own a full sized DeLorean or a time machine, this is now one of my favorite things ever. I know there's a chance the wheel mechanism may snap but I'll fix that if it happens. It'll 100% be worth it because this thing is absolutely incredible. (And there's a good chance I may never need to fix anything at all.)
I say take the chance, vet it as soon as it arrives and then sit back and enjoy it.
