YES! I think so atleast... only thing I thought was completely off was the shape of the opeing for the mouth. the widest part should be higher, and not lower... so I modified it alittle bit.... I'm not done with it but I plan to make it look as good as the takara.. hopefully.

A good sculpt....of course it is.

Is in Batman from Batman Begins? No. Don't forget that the nose is overly long and the Bat "ears" are too tall...he looks more like the Burton Batman.

Yeah, I have to admit the Takara one is clearly superior. However, the fact that the face is so plastic looking (no paint) really doesn't help the HT version.

If the Takara wasn't so skinny in the waist it would be perfect.

Looking at it, I think the only thing I like on this one more than Takara is the brow area is bolder, and it was in the film.

I also like the neck on the HT version. On the Takara, it's a little narrow. They even described designing the neck with a thick, Panther like feel/look.

Both really do have their pros and cons... I think the HT does have a better overall looking suit. But that head and the less than interesting hands hurt it quite a bit.

personally i like the "face" part of the sculpt on the hot toys version. it looks exactly like the end of the movie when gordon is talking about the joker and batman pauses before he says "ill look into it".

I can see that. Theres a few frames of that moment in boardmember Rikos sig.

While the Takara Batman Begins is an amazing figure, and possibly may be part of my collection in the future, it is only one interpretation of one of the many costumes used in the movie.

While some scenes of the movie capture the look of the Takara figure, I feel that most scenes resemble that of my Hot Toys figure. Take this pic for example. This to me is the Hot Toys Batman Begins :rock

You know, I've always despised that screen shot above. It makes the cowl look kinda dumb imo. But you're right, the HT Batman does capture that look. (nothing against the HT version, of course).

And this one too:

It's surprising what different angles and lighting does to make the same cowl look so different.

Unfortunately, none of the 3 Batman Begins figures (medi, HT, Tak) come close to what I think of when I picture Bale's Batman, I.E, this:

Angry, fierce. Can you guys see how markedly different the cowl looks in different photos?

and this (ignore the TDK suit on the right):

But to be fair, the HT and Takara versions got certain aspects right, but not altogether 100% accurate.

I loved my HT Batman. It was a solit figure. The sculpt resembled Bale only in certain shots and the suit was a bit bulky, but will last longer than the Tak suites. But the Tak. Batman is clearly superior in those two categories.

i had both, but recently sold my HT one. things i didn't like were
1. the paint - looked good because bale had that pale look in many parts of the film, but it looked a bit cartoony. i think with the right paint it would look awesome
2. the long nose
3. the bulky chest
4. mine wasn't very stable
5. huuuuuuuge cape

but the suit was incredible - easily the most accurate and well crafted. i may pick it up again if Hot Toys rereleases a Begins version with a few modifications along with the TDK one. i'm sure some repainting on the head and other simple mods could make this look as good as the tak one. if anyone can do it, venn can.

People always cite the long nose as a problem with the HT but its actually accurate, you just didnt see him in profile a whole lot, for example:

And the ears were pretty long

And he is bulky ala hot toys:

The only thing the tak had to me was a bit more personality in the face, but the almost smirk kinda bothered me it wasn't very serious, and then the accessories. But its suit its size and its cape just dont do it for me so i went hot toys.

Its a much more accurate representation of whats in the film its not perfect but no figure is, its just closer to the movie than the tak is. But i will say the tak is more toy and more playable/poseable with more accessories and if thats what you like than thats fine.

The HT BB figure is certainly a very good looking collectible, but I found that it was difficult to get him into a natural pose and most of the time he looked stiff. This is something that I had no trouble with on the Takara Batman. All that articulation and the material of the suit isn't there just for the sake of play, but to allow a natural hang to the body. Also, while the Hot Toys Batsuit is certainly superior to that of the Takara, it doesn't hug the base body tight enough, so for example if you pressed your finger on the chest/bat symbol, you'll notice that there's a lot of space underneath between the suit and the base body. In a basic neutral stance it doesn't make much difference, but in a pose that requires the arms to be lifted in or across the chest it looks pretty awkward.

One other thing that bothered me about the figure are the hands. They are too small in proportion to the rest of the body.

It's still a fantastic figure and I love the head sculpt. If someone could repaint the eyes so he looked less surprised, he'd be awesome imo.

picture is taken from Michael Crawford's 12" Batman Begins comparison review over at MWCtoy. I recommend reading it if anyone hasn't:

I stick with the opinion that the head sculpt of the Takara has the best base.

The brows and ears on the takara are perfect, or at least approch the best movie accurate

Do not see any point to question the superiour head sculpt of the takara.

About the body...it could be better indeed, more bulky like some said.
But this is especially seen in front view, but in side view, it is not very obvious:

indeed, you are right.
The suit had quite different looks in the movie, something the Burton suit did not have....

I just like takara as a figure overall more than the hot toys one. It's not just the better head that does it for me
