Wow :horror You're opinion sure switched sides quick!

Glad the mods didn't lock the thread as you first suggested, huh? :dunno:monkey3

True, true but I needed more convincing, sue me. A shiny butt cheek wasn't enough to convince me unlike pics of flaking, links to failed, deteriorating suits on ebay, and shots of a baggy suit.

But yeah, you got me there. I'm a ******. :dance

Lock this thread back up until October or something once everyone who has ordered gets theirs. Then make it a picture thread like the first OC Batman. The last one was locked for a reason, this one should follow suit.

Nothing to contribute now.

amayne i should have named the thread differntly like hot toys damage report or something,,:dunno

It's not too late to change the title of the name to, "HT Toy Fairs Batman Begins suit damage/deterioration?" You are, after all the topic creator.

This is more delicate then Enterbay's new rubber body. Pick 1 pose and stick with it for life for fear of ruining your figure :slap

I'm hoping this isn't as wide spread as all of the sudden panic about these guys seems to suggest. I looked at the pics and to me it looks like mishandling. My dx02 has a bit of rub on one of the abdominals probably from me trying to get the cape on. With that said I can't for the life of me understand how a company like Otter Box who makes cases for phones can have a rubber sheath that slips over a hard plastic clam shell, has no problems with rubber deteriorating. I abuse this case and it's been intact for almost a year. I Hope HT got their s___ together with the upcoming 89 bats and that BB TF EX is not as big a problem as we perceive it is.

I'll just have mine with the cape over the arms, standing on Spidey's building piece with the pissed face. Looks badass and won't even pose the body.

Still keeping order, will give close inspection upon arrival, if it is ____ i will sell the figure minus the Bale head (worth $50 to me) for $200 and be done with it.:lecture

Well, I wouldn't call you a ****** for doing that but, well...lets just say, it takes all kinds. So lets let everyone speak their peace before we decide to lock these things up. :peace

I just want this pose:

I don't understand how they couldn't get the rubber the texture they wanted without painting it. You can get rubber into about any sheen you want.

That said I agree with the folks saying there has to be some mishandling. That guy ripped off that batsuit to post on ebay, and you know it took some pressure to do that, which rubs paint off. So, if people are not taking reasonable precautions, they are liable for the damages.

That said, that paint/coating looks pretty thin to me, and it's visible around the crevices like around the bat symbol on the chest, how thin it is. Hot Toys deserves some blame for not ensuring average durability on this product. While people may be a bit rough on the figure, it looks to me like there's risk of damage there even for people that treat it well due to poor application of the coating and just plain a bad idea to begin with. In that regard, we'd be too forgiving to let Hot Toys have a mulligan on this should it prove to be widespread, which seems plausible at this point.

These rubber suits make for a convincing look. They really are pleasing to the eye, but these continual problems make me nervous with this and the Keaton batman on preorder. Those will be my first two rubber body figures, and since I've started collecting these, I've seen nothing but problems with them.
