I've got both Deunan & Briareos, no problems with joints or the rubber suits. The rubber & the armour pieces make articulation a bit limited, that's the only problem I have with them. If you can't get the pose - don't force it into submission!

Sounds like it should be an easy fix, good luck!

Hello guys!

Did anyone have any after sales support experience with Hot Toys? Do they offer any help to their clients like Enterbay? I got a defective WOD Lee with a smudged eyebrow a while ago so I emailed to Enterbay and shipped my figure to HK for repairs. The guys Enterbay were great with it and had figure sent back the moment it was fixed.

I just got my Appleseed Deunan figure today and she came missing with her right ankle guard. Apparently that part of the figure is very loose, prone to go missing. I'll be surprised if I'm the only guy who had this problem.

Now I wonder if Hot Toys offer some kind of replacement part service. I could hope and wait for Ebay for the assorted parts but those don't come very often and if they do they fly off very fast. I've already wrote them an email but don't know if they'll reply back.rc helicopters

I think it's all down to how long you get in contact after the the product was originally produced, these hi-end figures do tend to have short production runs meaning the manufacturer will only have spare parts available for a limited time. If you get in touch a year or longer after it was released I can imagine you would have problems.
I still have all three and although they are now in storage, I had no problems at all with them.

Good to know the knees are all a common size, I had a strong feeling they would be.

I would like to thank VALVOLINER for his awesome help!
This is a great community, i was right to ask for help here.
Happy new year everybody.

Ad a similar issue with my Hot Toys Abe Sapien a while ago. Here's s link to my fix if anyone else needs the info.
Glad you got this fixed, the forum is always full of helpful advice!

Happy to say that Abe is still standing, and I don't notice the splits in the rubber arms any more, sadly after initially contacting the seller, Goodshipped, and him promising to sort it with Hot Toys, I never heard from him again. He seemed like a really nice guy, but I guess going out of your way to help someone half way round the world didn't come high on his "to do" list!
Pity as I would have bought a lot more figures from him, but now i stick to UK sellers!

to olbertfrog and to anyone else who had the same problem

i just got briareos this week and though the figure exceeded my expectations, i unfortunately got one with 2 broken knees. it was misb so i guess HT just made a crappy packaging 'support' or something.

how did you get the knee out? did you have to tear thru the body suit? the shin guards are glued so i don't think i can just pull it out and fold out the rubber suit

help please.

thank you!

I assembled all my 3 HT Appleseed figures about 2 weeks ago and luckily enough had no problem with them.

Yes you'll have to pry the shin guards loose... which are glue through the rubber suit to the TT legs (shin) under the suit.... Disconnect the upper suit from the bottom suit... and take the rubber trousers off the TT legs... pop the joints out for repair...

If you follow the methods listed in this thread (below) you may get better and more solid joints... (my method is post No.9)... The repair after was for Tereus's knee...

I got my tereus replaced. Assembled him and he had no problems with knees. After sitting on a shelf with attatched base for a couple months, checked his knee joints out of curiosity. Sure enough that same left knee was broken. BTW you all might want to check your Dark Knight original costume batman figures, same thing happened to mine.:slap

hope you managed to work it out.

It's a shame that HOT TOYS don't have a spare part shop.
Even on ebay it's very rare that you see those knee part for sale.

I see all the time headsculpt and stuff but no one seems to adress this problem. The one who will sell these home made knees would help a lot of collectors and make some money in the process.

Bandito,
your repair looks nice, the bigger screws seems to reenforce the knees? Do you think it would be wise to mod the knees or "why fix it if it's not broken" ^^

thanks very much everyone, olbertfrog and bandito.

im actually looking forward to do the surgery on briareos.

deunan is gonna be here tomorrow. i hope she's in perfect condition.

Bri and Deunan are still two of my all time favourites, amazing figures.

yup! even with broken knees, i still cant imagine parting with HT deunan and bri. and about the rubber suit deteriorating, im not bothered because when that time comes, i'll probably have enough skillz to repair them. im actually excited thinking about that session.

I'd go with... why fix it if it's not broken.... the main problem with the old HT knees is that too much force is placed on the small plastic protrusion. The bigger screw distribute the force to a larger area, and being a separate piece it has much lower chance to fail or crack.

Had to move my Briareos the other day and thought I'd check the knee's. Left knee is real loose & pops back to the straight position after bending, it doesn't seem broken, but it's pretty loose. Damn.

Doesn't matter much in the pose I've got him in, but there is a problem there that I hadn't noticed before.

This is worrying! You can throw a Hasbro figure on the floor, no problem with it, but the knees (and joints, and rubber suits/parts etc.) seem to cause lots of troubles on these high-end figures. Just read the ED-209 thread and it is creepy...
