I'm pretty happy with my medicom version. If hot toys made one that could be disassembled and had a remote for the eyes and some sounds, it would be easy to buy.

Yeah the Medi version is decent, it just feels more 1/7 scale than 1/6.

Eh, for me it's just heavy and I refuse to handle it with bare hands. I love the figure but it's a bit of a pain in the *ss.

Edit: I was responding to someone that just asked about the status of this figure. Their post seems to be gone now. Weird.
People would be talking about it if it were, and be a bit surprised by it at this point.
It's very much on the MIA list. I think higher end ST merchandise will be made very infrequently moving forward, if at all.
An OT C-3PO seems more likely and I'm sure will happen eventually.
But not till well after the inevitable Mortar Stormtrooper and other future Mandalorian figures.

The fact that there’s no 3PO from Hot Toys whatsoever is baffling to me.
When they realize they can put out a variant of him painted as Iron Man, they’ll put one out

Absolutely.
There should’ve been an OT version at least already. Having one that disassembles releases with an ESB Chewbacca for ESB 40th seems like a no brainer.
Yeah that would be a great DX for 40th, though we only have another six weeks of that ESB 40th year to go - time has kinda run out.
3PO's parts are also a bit burnt/blackened after he's shot and in the net bag, even on his head/face, so just a cleanish 3PO wouldn't quite look right. I guess most people wouldn't care though.
I do kind of doubt many people would display a $270 HT 3PO just as Chewy's backpack - a true DX would come with 3PO fig plus an extra blown apart 3PO as accessory in backpack bag.

AND that is why the next DX Star Wars figure SHOULD be C3PO.
They've shown the AOTC and TFA versions that doing a DX shouldn't be too far a stretch with all the similar parts,repaints and then battle damaged parts.
All limbs could be swap outs,Silver,gold or grey right leg. Gold,red and battle damaged left arm.Removeable torso.Light up eyes.
Dx accessories can be the backpack from TESB,the Ewok throne from ROTJ,a deluxe sandbase for tatooine scene,a hoth base that swaps out with the sand base,and 2 foliage diorama pieces ala Luke Endor display base,for that Endor feel.
That's all i can think of for now..
He is like the last one to be made of the major 7.
COME ON HOT TOYS.
I would rather have a Jar Jar. I find C3PO insufferable.

I got tired of waiting so I?m making my own, I?ve got a thread for it in the SW custom section.
I think if HT did do a 3PO for Chewie?s back it would have to be an accessory rather than a figure you can disassemble. Not all 3PO?s parts are on Chewie?s back, and the limbs would need to be hollow to allow the arm to be carried inside the thigh etc. Also in some scenes he has two right hands, in others a right and a left.

Me thinking about what Hot Toys would do, I imagined they’d just let you throw C-3PO in a bag, inaccuracy be damned. Since most people wouldn’t notice.
But I suppose it would make more sense to offer a Deluxe ESB Chewbacca with 3PO-to-go.
Really thought we’d have the entire ESB line up by now. Really disappointed when I think about it.
