You guys think Hot Toys is definitely making Red Skull right? I would be so upset if they don't. He could easily be my most wanted Hot Toys right now and he hasn't even been announced!

I also hope we get Loki to go with Thor. We can't have Cap and Thor being lonely on the shelf.

I'd be surprised if HT didn't make RS, no one can obviously say for sure until HT announce it for there selfs but Cap's should be a big big seller, so it only makes sense to make his nemesis.

I think its all about how well the movie goes. Wouldn't surprise me if its all done in proto stage just waiting on a green light based on ticket sales. Proto is sitting on one the designer's tables just waiting.

Well, we didn't get Sabretooth from Wolvie: Origins. And we didn't get any Blade villains. If they want to do a "one-off" figure from this movie, then Cap could be it. But I could easily see them doing this, and think it would sell.

Well, to be honest I don't think Sabes from that movie would have sold well enough. Now, Red Skull I think would because Cap has a bigger fan base overall and his distinct look should help.

You think Cap has a bigger fan base than Wolverine? If so, then that's a very recent phenomenon. In my observation, Wolvie has been Marvel's most popular character for many years, with Spidey behind him, and Hulk/Cap/Iron Man a distant third.

I agree that Sabretooth would look a bit dull compared to Red Skull, but no less so than some other, lesser comic characters HT has pursued like Abigail Whistler and Black Widow.

It is hard to guess what HT's strategy will be here IMO, because they have approached different lines in different ways. Every character and his cousin gets released with Iron Man, whereas Blade and Wolvie get solo, piecemeal releases or head sculpts released here and there.

I think Cap is a deff, The movie doesnt have much promo, i think After Thor all were gonna see is Cap stuff but i think this has a good chance of gettin RS.

Yeah, I think he's ahead of Wolverine for sure. Because of his own works, Avengers, and Civil War. I'd venture to guess its nothing new but something thats been there for quite some time.

Whistler surprised me when they made that but Black Widow was in one of the biggest marvel movies and a major player really so it made sense. The same will be said for Red Skull I think because of the impact Caps movie will have.

Again, its based on what will sell. Cap and Thor will get more because of their budget and such and impact the films will have the other two are films or a film that are awesome but not as much impact outside us.

Using quantifiable measures Wolvie has (at least) had more toys, more comics, more exposure in television and film, and more videogames. As such, more kids would know about him and thus, he would be more popular by my reckoning. On top of all that, Wolvie is almost single-handedly responsible for all the X-fanaticism of the last 25-30 years. The Avengers, though Marvel's "flagship," have never approached being popular at the level of the X-Men since the late 70s, though the new movies may change that.

Cap has always been hanging around as a well known, iconic character. But like Iron Man, no one outside of comic geeks paid all that much attention until the movie came around, while Wolverine was almost constantly available to kids in one cartoon or another, or in movies, or in video games, or in 10 comic titles available at the same time. Cap's recently had exposure due to being on cartoons and the build up to the new film, but that's all in the last year or two.

Wolvie is def more popular than Captain America with kids and general audience, imo.

I have no doubts Hot Toys will make a Red Skull figure. Red Skull's pretty much one of the few "elite" villains out there and his design is awesome, yet not as expensive to make compared to say an Iron Monger. So yeah, I fully expect to have a Red Skull and Loki in my collection sometime in the near future.

Yeah, Wolverine has been in more things and I actually like him more than Cap overall for what thats worth. I guess over the years I've seen as many toys, shirts, hats, etc at stores around here as I did Wolverine. As far as the build up the last 1-2 I don't think thats the case at all as he's held pretty steady right there with the top of Marvels guys for several years now or maybe thats just because I've though not read as many still payed plenty of attention to comics. Plus you factor in the other things and thats why I think Cap is a bit ahead of Wolverine.

Also if HT makes Red Skull figure they will not have to pay for actors likeness rights, which makes it more appealing to them. (don't expect to see extra Hugo sculpt)

Regardless of the title characters fanbase, Sabretooth has zero fanbase (at least in Hong Kong, which is what counts to HT ) and obviously Gambit was planned but canceled.

Releasing the sculpt on a true type was really smart. I wish they would do that for more characters but I guess they don't want to waste the time and effort for something they're gonna give away.

It does look quite like Hugo Weaving in action. When he moves and talks, you can definitely see him in there, so I would suggest that HT will have to buy the rights, well if they want him to be screen accurate at least.

Wolverine might be more popular now, but looking at my own experiences growing up, I can honestly say that I knew about Cap way earlier than I knew about Wolverine. I even was more familiar with Thor than Wolverine...

I used to watch these cartoons about Cap and Thor on Saturdaymorning.
Here's an example:

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/UgbsV6aTHts" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I only got to know Wolverine when I started to watch the animated series from the 90's.

Never read the comics, so I can't judge popularity there, but I'd say Cap and Thor are more iconic than Wolverine.

Anyway, back to the discussion at hand... I think HT will make a Red Skull. Cap is gonna be as big as Iron Man IMO, while Wolverine and Blade always seemed a bit smaller (movie-wise that is).
Besides, to my knowledge there wouldn't be much other figure options from this Cap film. So I'm guessing Cap and Red Skull.

wolverine is way more popular than cap... it's so obvious.... x-men is way too more popular than avengers... this is a no brainer....

but i love both characters and no contest about that...
getting cap and thor and wishing they make red skull and loki!

:goodpost: Agree! For sure, if HT make him..it will be added in my collection too! :hi5:
