that would mean the figure would have to ship within 4 weeks and as much as I'd love for that to happen, that's just how they do things, although nobody would be happier than me if they prove me wrong. I just took it as they probably meant the Avengers movie next year since I was realistically expecting this figure to come out between X-mas/1st QTR '2012

they could have just been waiting till it was ready to unveil it unlike all the other figures they have done in the past...

I mean look at Thor, closest to movie premier yet. Odin too, he is shipping like 3 months after his unveil...

Could be a new trend that they are actually pushing figures out on a reasonable schedule rather than years after the movies...

The thing was, they unveiled Thor in Dec/Jan and were able to time his release with the movie. And I just chalk Odin up as the rare quick release. So I was hoping they would've previewed Cap by March to coincide with his movie too, but I don't see this guy getting an earlier release than 4th QTR, but like I said, I'd love to be wrong. All I know, Hot Toys sales will be off the chart from Sept to Dec this year with everything coming out from them

Another preorder for me. Looks like they have a prototype so it could be a 3-6 month window to release depending on their factory load, but I'm expecting preorders to come up sooner rather than later.

for all we know, that isnt the proto but the final production model which is why it took SOOO long for the unveil and why they are saying to be ready before the movie comes out

Nah, not by a long shot. Its just their Engrish way of saying the full figure will be revealed before the film comes out, nothing more. HT has NEVER had a figure pumped out within a month's time. They need a month at least to get pre-orders in to figure out how many they are going to make. If this were to come out next month, the figure would already be made and on the boat from China, and therefore logically already out in China. Its just not happening and don't think otherwise.

If that was the case we'd already have X-men and GL figures by now.

More and more often things are not finalized months and months in advanced anymore with films. So if HT were to make a figure in time for the film's release, they'd have to go off of pre-production materials, which can differ dramatically from what eventually ends up on screen. And as ____ as we are, we wouldn't be happy with something not 110% accurate.

I really excited to see how this one turns out. Glad to hear we'll see something sooner, rather than later.

That would be horrible. If theres anything fans want them to fix or add it would be too late, before we ever saw it.

Its just not possible. Like I said, in order for that to happen, these would already have to be 100% made. What if HT makes far less than what the demand is going to be. What if they make too much? Companies really need the pre-order window now to estimate just how many they need to make. Without that, they really are in the dark on what the demand will be. That is why con exclusive items are usually so limited. They make enough to meet their costs, but not too much to have left overs. Sometimes they make too few and prices skyrocket. Sometimes they make too many and they can't give them away. Thats fine on 1 or 2 items for the whole year, but they can't just start doing that with all of their items.

The honest truth is we'll only get the full pics and specs before the movie, NOT THE FIGURE.

No, it was BEFORE. Plus they have a Marvel movie license. They technically already had the license anyway.

Oh, they have been working on this for months and months, but that doesn't mean they are ready to be released. Just because they have something finished doesn't mean the production scheduel is ready for them. Sideshow already has the full Cantina Band made, but they've only offered one up for pre-order. There is nothing holding them back other than the production scheduel.

You really don't seem to get it that the figure WILL NOT BE RELEASED BEFORE THE MOVIE! Its just not happening dude. So you might as well get used to it now becaue you're only going to disapoint yourself when it doesn't happen. Need we revist the Christopher Reeves Superman fiasco?
