Harrison loves money. I don't think he's a guy who needs money because he's short of cash, but he does like flying and traveling and has expensive hobbies overall, so he always wants more money. He said on Jimmy Fallon that he came back to Star Wars because they offered him a ton of money, which seems like a very humorous joke and probably was, but there probably was a bit of truth to it knowing that Mark Hamill is on record saying he was shocked Harrison came back.

I'll never forgot when Harrison did that commercial in Japan plugging Uncharted - dude had cleared never actually played a PlayStation before. There was no shot he knew what he was doing. The guy just loves money and I'm sure that's why he's willing to do anything and everything on screen these days.

Agreed, Ford and his family are set for a longggg time, he just wants more, Feige and Marvel probably offered him a boat load of cash to be President Ross and Red Hulk.

I know which ad you're talking about lol, I posted it below for others to see the ridiculousness of it.

I guess they didn’t invite him back for PS4 and PS5 😂 There’s no better person to advertise how fun and exciting your game console is. He probably didn’t even leave his hotel room to film it. I’m fairly certain that isn’t even him in the behind head shot.

It always escapes me, but isn't there something with HT that requires actor approval for likeness that isn't necessary for folks like Hasbro? I know I've seen that thrown around a lot but I know much of what we come up with is speculative.

We also haven't seen any Leias in a good while (2 years following her passing, and the sculpt used was previously approved anyhow), and we still need the Boushh disguise, which I hope for with the 40th. Makes me wonder if, much like with Harrison, there's a presumed hiccup in the approval of likeness from the actor/estate (in Carrie's) case.

Whatever deals they penned all those years ago probably aren't indefinite. So who knows. I just can't see them not putting out any Harrison Han since 2016 if there wasn't a massive blockade to the process.

I mean I'm fairly certain Hasbro needs the rights. Taking the Tonnika Sisters situation into consideration. It almost finally happened too. I remember Victoria's Cantina interview with the one. I don't know all the in's and out's of approval though for hot toys or Hasbro, but you need rights for both I'm sure. And I believe LucasFilm did get likeness rights for the characters in perpetuity when the OT came out.

I realize I didn't completely articulate what I wanted to say apologies; I've heard it tossed around that HT requires additional actor/actress approval beyond that which is included within their contracts. One such instance I remember was when JC Hong had alluded to final talent approvals causing many of the changes to the ROTS Obi Wan sculpt. So somewhere along the line these higher end items seem to get a checkmark by the talent themselves, or at least their people. And that makes sense because Ewan has commented on late night stuff that Hasbro never seems to get him right, which I would assume that if he had input on the smaller stuff, he'd exercise it.

I dunno, lots of speculation.

If the 1/6 Ewan stuff we’ve been getting is after the man himself has given his input, he needs to take a closer look in the mirror.

Actors often have idealised views of themselves. I mean you have to be a bit vain to be an actor in the first place. Some random comments:
I remember Fisher was holding a Hasbro figure of herself I think around the time of the prequels also commenting that it was ugly and they never got her right.
Ford was quoted back in the early eighties that he complained he wasn’t on as much merch as Hamill and Fisher. Why is my face not on an eraser or jigsaw? Lol times have changed.
Listen to this Hottoycast podcast where they interview Trevor Groves and he talks about the process of getting sculpts approved.
I also remember there was a lot of talk with the early Stark head sculpts the approval process was interminable and you can see very much an idealised version in many of them.

Getting closer & closer to May. Any chance we get some OT reveals in a few weeks at SWC?
I’m desperate for some new OT figures!

To be fair…

I feel like I know someone on that podcast… 🤔
🤣🤣

My best bet for the remaining figs of this celebration could feasibly narrowed down to Han, Chewie and Boushh Leia.
