Hot Toys celebrates Star Wars Return of the Jedi 40th anniversary

I like calling that outfit Hutt Slayer Leia (it even rhymes!) instead of slave outfit Leia, but I assume Disney won't be fooled by the name switcheroo.

And why Hot Toys has not announced any new Harrison Ford Han Solo figures in six years (and why they have only ever done three sculpts - ANH smuggler and stormtrooper, and old-man TFA) surely must be one of the biggest mysteries in 1/6 collecting. Especially when other companies such as Hasbro and Gentle Giant are happily producing new figures or statues that seem to have Ford's likeness (albeit not exactly dead-ringers like Hot Toys might be.) One of Hasbro's 40th anniversary offerings is even the Han Endor.

Huttslayer has been the official name for a while now. It’s canonical (novels/reference books). No fooling necessary.

Many theories about Hot Toys, Han, and Ford over the years. Been talked over a lot. Nothing about it from any sources that would really know. But it is unfortunate.

Other companies do make Han figures but like you said, not dead ringers. Less required to make a Hasbro sculpt than a Hot Toys one who would be (trying to at least) replicating a likeness as closely as possible.

Heard the big three renegotiated contracts for TFA. Hasbro is also the master action figure license holder and GG makes statues. Probably some complications for Hot Toys somewhere between all that.

There’s an off chance they might finally release Bespin Han as a carbonite sickness Han and have a deluxe version with the Bespin Jacket.

Bespin Luke isn't part of the ESB anniversary line, so they can still release Bespin Han if they want to.

I agree. It's just unfortunate most are unlikely. ROTJ Vader is definitely possible but who the heck knows about Han. Probably not. Piett would be nice but unlikely.

Along with ROTJ Vader, ROTJ Fett, and another repaint/reissue or two, I'm expecting only Boushh Leia and maybe one surprise figure. Same general blueprint as ESB 40th.

I wish I shared your optimism but they actually teased a Bespin Han and didn't get it out for ESB 40th so it's hard to see a Han happening any time soon.

But it'd be nice if they do.

It's not optimism, it's a rational observation through years of observing Hot Toys's patten from my end, cannot explain to you in words, but Han is definitely happening.

Just remember AOTC C-3PO had been actually released in reality would probably lighten your prospect towards Hot Toys version of Han Solo.

(Un)fortunately, C-3PO doesn’t require likeness rights tied to a lovable curmudgeon who probably doesn’t want to deal with Star Wars right now.

As a fellow observer of Hot Toys for many years (come to think of it, already been about 12 years since my first one ) the only thing I can conclude about Han is:

Not saying ROTJ 40th isn’t possible. It could happen. Just in the mindset of it’ll happen when it does. Don’t want to get my hopes up before then. But I do think it’s a matter of when and not if.

Bespin Han is arguably the most wanted Han figure. Had they released him there might not have been as much interest in a ROTJ Han. But now, people are dying for a new HT Han figure. Their ANH Han figures were released way back and often fetch a hefty sum on the aftermarket.

I predict we'll see a new Han and Chewie for the ROTJ anniversary. Both single packs as well as a special two pack.

Then a week after those have been released in HK they'll announce the ESB versions and chaos ensues.

Though I would like to note that Hasbro made a new ROTJ Han because the only modern one was a 2021 reissue of a 2011 figure that was a retool of a 2006 figure and overall pretty unacceptable despite the paint update.

Disney likely didn’t have a trying to do with it. For once, Hasbro owned up to their terrible decision… after enough complaints were throw their way, but still.

I wouldn't mind an Endor Han. I always thought his trench coat was a cool look. But then I'd need to hunt down that Endor Leia and Luke. That is a slippery slope.. Funny enough, I already have a single Wicket.

I hope that you are right. I've got no interest in Endor Han but an ESB version is an automatic pre-order. AND I would probably pick up at least "2" additional Chewies, as well. Let's hope to see that chaos ensuing...

Same here, except throw in another Chewie with Han. From a completely selfish point of view I also want re-issues/re-releases of the Emperor, Luke, and Boba. Oh yeah how could I forget Gamorreans?!
