I'll need two of these guys!. I wish HT released generic head sculpts. I have a whole Endor squad I would like to upgrade.

I would also love it if HT did generic head sculpts. I would love some Hoth and Endor Rebel soldiers. Even some Tantive IV soldiers. You'd have to figure that generic head sculpts would be easier to push through in terms of licensing, since you don't need specific actor/actress likeness rights like you do with the characters. I'm sure figures of that nature would even be in demand from people who want to recreate battle scenes. Just think, if you have one of those Tantive hallway dioramas, it'd look awesome to have Vader and some Stormies walking through with dead Rebels on the floor.

Recent tweet from Ron Howard! Death Star Troopers in Han Solo movie!!!

The figure have a new opportunity!

It looks like this trooper we'll be features in yet another Star Wars installment. Might help speed up its release

Ron Howard is on these boards, reads this thread, and is helping the movement to get HT to put this up for preorder.

Obviously.

If they're going to include the console and be expensive, I feel like it'll be a while. They just did Tarkin, and the set w/ Vader. They probably realize some people just committed almost $500 (and probably more considering Luke), so they might just wait for the following quarter release or something.

At that point, they might be better off waiting for the Solo movie to turn up so the figure get some media support to help sales a little.

I'm actually very curious as to why Death Star troopers would be in a Han Solo movie.

When the Falcon arrived at Alderaan in ANH, nobody on board had any idea what the Death Star was until Obi-Wan realized it was a space station, and even then, they didn't know what they were arriving upon. It wasn't until Princess Leia explained what the Death Star was that Luke and Han realized what was going on. Point being, Han has never seen the Death Star prior to ANH, which is when this movie takes place. Maybe he had some run-ins with the Empire while becoming who he is, but I can't see a way that involving the Death Star in this movie would fit the narrative.

Completely agree. It's possible that the Death Star Trooper is at an outpost or some base of the Empire, like an academy. Remember Death Star troopers were present at the Shield Generator on Endor. So they're not just exclusive to the Death Star itself.

Maybe some silly connection to how Han knows how to work the console. Han in Deathstar Trooper disguise? "Everything's fine... situation normal."
Aaaand there's your OT connection

I don't think that's canon anymore. They might very well take that angle in the movie next year, but as of right now, I think he never went to the Academy.

I have no choice but to accept the new canon, as canon. Three of my favorite Star Wars characters were Kyle Katarn, Corran Horn and Dash Rendar. I couldn't let it go for a long while that Disney gave all three of them the axe, so I just decided to accept Disney canon for what it is and move on from it.

RIP Kyle Katarn.

****ing Disney...
