Re: Speculation : Hot Toys Disney+ Figures "The Mandalorian" + "Cassian" + "Kenobi"
Industry articles that I am too lazy to go digging for. But would guess Boba fans more or less already knew - since apparently there had been a planned Boba movie - a while back. Or something.
EDIT:
And, yeah, I expected more or less "too bad, so sad" comments. *Shrug* Like I said, these shows are products. I thought Ragnarok was hilarious. Plenty of Thor fans found it offensive.
I'm a fan of Mandalorian because the initial vision - more Rogue One like - appealed to me. Also, IMO, after the ST, Star Wars desperately need to distance itself - or maybe start fresh is a better way to put it. A different focus.
IMO the ST really blew it in the writing, editing, directing, narrative department in introducing new characters. The whole ST should have been 3 movies that showed "this is how you do it". I should have had a whole line-up of ST characters; instead I came to a screeching halt with TFA Rey and Kylo. Popcultcha had Finn 50% off forever - and I just couldn't do it.
And part of the problem with the ST - especially TROS - was bloat and rehash. Not making the leap to completely invest in Snoke as the primary villain, for example.
So, yeah, I'm unhappy that they're not keeping Mandalorian more lean/focused. That Disney apparently is leaping on the gravy train success of Mandalorian. Suspect some of the planned shows (SW and others) are gonna flop, because good writers/directors are tough to get. More doesn't necessarily = more. More can end up being less.
Point taken. Not to mention it can take HT multiple tries with multiple figs before they get a sculpt right. The first Pascal will probably end up looking like Antonio Banderas - but then I can use it on my Zorro fig.
And it COULD be a win-win. Dunno. I hope so. I was pretty involved in Din D'jarin's arc - which to me is pretty interesting. His identity - facing the his upbringing and the real fact that, well, maybe the Death Watch isn't completely wrong about being @ss-kickers either. That's condensing things a lot, but if I really stretch it - it's kinda what Finn should have been. When do you fight, and where do your loyalties lie? Who and what are you?
So Din D'jarin's on the mythic hero journey - e.g. u get broken down and rebuild. Plus Grogu. Plus a potential Mandalorian war. Plus Moff Gideon. Plus the whole Darksaber thing. Hoping Favreau is agreeing with me LOL.
And you know this how? You were intimately involved in the mapping out of the series that Fav and Filoni jointly did after KK head hunted Fav and put him together with Filoni after it turned out his idea for a show aligned with something Filoni was already developing (source the Art of the Mandalorian)? This was mapped and always part of the plan. We are just along for the ride. If you don't like it...

EDIT:
It should also be noted that Lucasfilm was developing a full-on Boba Fett movie back when Disney first bought them. Alongside the Han Solo spinoff Solo and Rogue One, a Boba Fett movie was very much in the works with Josh Trank at the helm. Trank quit the project in the midst of the hubbub around his Fantastic Four movie, but Lucasfilm definitely developed some feature film storylines for the fan-favorite character. Whether any of that work will find its way into The Book of Boba Fett now is unclear, but also probably unlikely ? Favreau and Filoni have had no trouble building out their own corner of the Star Wars universe thus far.

If your perception of "LONG wait" for a hundred million dollars project with "8 shorts episodes".
Then simply refer to the production time of a typical Hot Toys figure takes roughly more than a year. I could say the same thing, just a $250 dolly what took them so ******* LONG . I sincerely hope you understand my point .

I'm actually kinda with you a bit here. I'm not exactly thrilled to see Djarin pushed aside in favor of Boba Fett. I don't mind Fett popping in from time to time or Djarin coming back to enlist his help or something, but kinda sucks mando s3 is now on the back burner.
I'm sure the Fett show will be great and I'm still excited for it, but as someone who didn't really see grogu leaving as the end of Djarin's story ( what with Mandalore calling and the whole dark Saber business) I was excited to pick up where we left off next year.
Instead I guess we'll get Boba redecorating Jabba's palace? Maybe putting in a skylight.
