Solo feels a bit like a fan tribute film to me. It's really difficult to get past someone else other than Harrison Ford playing a character as iconic as Han Solo. Ehrenreich's character is actually really likeable, he's just not Han Solo. I feel a bit differently about Glover as Lando, as I couldn't understand the praise he got. I feel he totally overplayed the role, taking the more eccentric parts of Lando's character and exaggerating them to the extreme. It's easier to imagine Ehrenreich as another character than it is Glover. That aside there's some really good ideas in that film, mainly revolving around Qi'ra and the crime syndicates, which really need to be expanded upon in a series or some straight to streaming Disney+ movies. Overall I'd say it's a solid 7/10 fun film (much the same as The Force Awakens), which could become a better film in time if the story is expanded upon.
Overall I'd say Disney have had 1 great film, 2 good films (fun, but lacking in a little originality) and 1 extremely divisive film. It's a bit of a myth to say they've been a total failure. Hopefully the Mandalorian ends up in the same category as Rogue One, and The Rise of Skywalker somewhere in the category between The Force Awakens/Solo and Rogue One. There's still hope yet.
