I don't appreciate Filoni's obsession with converting his animated characters into live action, but he does have a massive knowledge and appreciation for the galaxy George created.

The more of these shows come out though it makes me yearn for a KOTOR anything.

I'm out in the cold here but I don't think anyone needs Filoni.

"Needs more Ahsoka! And they can evade those pesky ISB officers with the help of Hyperspace Prairie Dogs! Yeah, that's the ticket!"

(I know, I know, minority opinion).

The short version of my opinion on Filoni is that he over-complicates the Star Wars universe in the name of 'lore building' and leans heavily on convoluted mysticism which he executes on a more child-like level than I'm generally entertained by.
I guess I meant more it would be good that Filoni should be involved in each Star Wars product, so the Star Wars universe at least looks and feels the same. I mean where are the SW aliens in Andor ? It just doesn't necessarily feel 100% SW either, more general Sci-Fi.

OK so perhaps let me rephrase my original quote. Either clone Filoni so he can be everywhere to help out at a minimum, or Filoni and Gilroy need to have a baby and he/she does everything going forward :)

Little Tony Filoni. Sounds like he should have an ice cream stall next to the beach.

Totally agree.
I think Filoni's input would ruin Andor.
Even though not having a coherent single creative in charge has resulted in a mixed bag, heavily skewed toward awful content, it has also meant we get a lot of Star Wars shows and movies with very different flavours and focus.
Not sure I want a unified Star Wars "cinematic universe" with Filoni giving his "creative input" into everything.
I know his stuff is very popular and I'm in that minority of fans with you, but I really don't need to see hyperspace whales, magic Force giant wolf things, that weird father, son, daughter Force balance family thing, the world between world's (that time travel thing?) or his animated characters having a massive presence in live action.

IIRC, Hot Toys usually PO figures from TV shows after finale aired. Can't remember is they actually POed any figure from a show while it was airing.
They did with the Mandalorian. That was up for PO together with IG-11 before the show even started.

But yeah, usually it seems to be after the finale.

All I want is the look and feel to be the same. Filoni is essentially Lucas. Sure I don't want Space Whales either, but live action Star Wars like Mando has that feel, also for the Imperials.

I'd probably lean more on look than anything. Andor looks and feels too much like a generic Sci-Fi to me. That and increase the pace and it would be a winner for me.

Pretty much my opinion of him too. Highly overrated. He is also retcon trigger happy with his shows which is annoying. If he is kept on for guidance regarding aesthetics/ looks of ships only then maybe- no, wait, all he does is recycle old Ralph Mcquarrie and Joe Johnston concept art.. yeah, Filoni can just handle the cartoons because his fans are mostly cartoon fans. Leave the live action stuff to better writers/directors such as Gilroy.

I don't know, how much of Mando was down to Filoni and how much was Favreau.
Far as I know, the animated stuff is where Filoni has much more of a free reign. I do wonder if Favreau holds him back somewhat from his "Filoniness" for the live action shows.
In any case, I understand where you're coming from that Andor doesn't feel like Star Wars. I guess it's personal taste but I'm enjoying Andor.
I think one of the good things of having so many different creatives and writers working on Star Wars is that we can get different flavours of shows.
The particular style you might enjoy more is probably just around the corner.

Holy God! Seriously?! You have to laugh at just how reactionary this fanbase is sometimes. So you seriously want to put Star Wars in the hands of someone who makes a show that doesn't feel even remotely like Star Wars at the expense of the closest thing we've ever had, and ever will have, to George Lucas??? Guy eating a bowl of cereal for half a season vs. Luke Skywalker & Ahsoka training Grogu, hmmm... tough call.

Andor doesn't feel like Star Wars in the sense it doesn't have grand luscious music cues, lightsabers and force chokes every 5 minutes.

That has been done to death, resurrected and killed again. It's time for a new feeling, and I'm sorry you don't like it but a lot of people do.

There'll be more lightsabers in the Acolyte though so you won't have to wait long.

I'd say it feels more like bland generic sci-fi than anything. Not that many people like it according to the viewing figures, do they? So yeah if they want to proceed with Star Wars that hardly anyone watches then sure give the reigns to Tony Gilroy over Filoni.

That's because the general viewers have been spoonfed Jedi and Sith for 45 years and are frightened of change, meaning genuinely great writing and character development.

When they didn't see a little green frogling hopping along they tuned out.

This debate can go on forever. You clearly don't like Andor and never will so I'm leaving it here.

But will continue to enjoy discussing the show's merits with others who love its fresh take on a well worn galaxy.

No, I don't like it, but I appreciate the tone. I do take exception to people belittling Filoni at the expense of Gilroy and acting like he is some great savior of Star Wars. Honestly, it stinks of Rian Johnson and his acolytes all over again.

Yes, you continue to discuss the show's merits with others, I don't believe I was replying to your post in the first place, was I? I'm obviously not smart enough to understand how intellectual and highbrow Andor is.

Indeed, not even JJ or R.Johnson filled their SW with a guy eating cereal all the time while talking to his Mum. Also, where were the rebel snowspeeders during the Aldhani heist? Wouldn’t made the whole thing awesome.
