The problem for HT becomes: can they overcome my continuing apathy for this season? As in, do I want to be reminded of this season by anything on my shelves? Who thinks that having 3/4 of the season be empty content is a good idea? Who at Lucasfilm thought that was a great idea? That person has much to answer for.

Read somewhere that fans are saying Mando has been "sidelined and demeaned" in his own show. Those are true words.

Don’t see Hot Toys having too many problems with the figures they could make. The general audience has short attention spans. If there’s something new and shiny then they’ll latch on and buy it.

For the rest of us, we collectors have ways of justifying purchases that bypass moral quandaries if needed. Buy what you like and all that.

Time also heals. Mando S3 has been choppy at best but one could argue a similar percentage of AOTC spends its runtime not going anywhere. There’s an extra element of nostalgia but people still bought those figures in droves.

The last two episodes of S3 could very well be enough to make a lot of people just ignore what wasn’t great. This past episode was solid and the finale could be jam packed with goodness.

Time will tell but I can’t imagine many here skipping anything really cool and new Hot Toys makes even if they pass on repeat characters.

So glad that’s in spoiler tags You’re alright most people have probably seen the episode by now, and if they haven’t what are they doing in a Mando figure forum on the day of a new episode?

Not really analogous though. What AoTC lacks in screen time, it more than makes up for in other lore, TCW, Legends, comics, stuff like that. We know those characters really well.

Other than Bo, Mando lacks this advantage. So..... I can buy A LOT of clones because they have other lore that endears them to me. We know Kenobi and Anakin well. Maul? We know him.

I dont have a reason to buy Moff Gideon right now. Or maybe, ever.

I did think that his character made a really good, older grizzled Mandalorian. Felt like he worked well within the universe. Cool stuff.

That is very true, and you are absolutely correct that those characters have the benefit of having been around for a long time with various media attached.

Though I don't think it's entirely fair to say that's not true of everyone in The Mandalorian except Bo-Katan. I think we've gotten to know many of the characters over the course of the show. Not as much as the PT/TCW characters yet of course, but they can be built up more given the time like the PT era.

I'm mostly making the observation that people can generally find reasons and justifications to buy most anything when it comes down to it with regards to whether Hot Toys will have a problem selling them or not. Unless the season finale is absolutely terrible, there will still be people that happily snap up Mando S3 related figures.

Your own mileage will of course vary. I personally would also have to think about another Gideon and other repeat characters, but there's also some figures I definitely want from this season.

I saw this episode as a nod to the ToysRUs Hasbro 3 3/4" figure days of yesteryear - An overwhelming flood of possible figure releases.

I must be getting old but I didn't see anything that I would want to pay $300 bucks for.

They’ll take the easier route. It works out for them that she has shorter hair with her armor since that’s the appearance that makes more sense to make a figure of.

Also a not zero percent chance they don’t give us a sculpt at all. But if they do I’d rather have sculpted than rooted hair.

So far my wallet is happy. I know we are slowly moving forward to First Order territory, but I think the Beskar-Troopers look too sleek. Same for the Preatorian guards and Beskar-Gideon. I'll most likely skip on these.

If they were to make the Mandalorian skiffcaptain with the dustercoat kinda garment though... that could be tempting.

Dammit I'm totally going to need an IG-12 now. Thought it was silly as hell at first but it very quickly won me over.

And as one of the tiny handful of people here who likes TLJ it was pretty damn cool seeing the Praetorians again. Not sure about making the helmets Mando-like though. Always thought it was a lot more unique and mysterious having them be blank.
