I am a big Star Wars fan but I'm not convinced on this sculpt :(

After what has been turned out lately Supes/Sparrow i think this Sculpt is way off and is a fail in my opinion.

I want to love it but i can't bring myself to pull the trigger:slap

If you disagree go and take a look at OMG's pics of Supes and Sparrow then take another look at Luke, I personally don't think it's in the same league as them, And 89 Joker.

I will wait and see the in hand pics up first before i make a decision on whether to order him or not, If they don't change it i will spend my wonger on a different figure:dunno

Before i get flamed this is my opinion your's may differ :peace
Don't worry, I hear you mate - as I'm sure many others here do. I'm an enormous fan of Luke's ESB fatigues outfit / look, & I'm also a little underwhelmed by the clean face sculpt - as well as aspects of the outfits' tailoring.

Kind of bittersweet really, because I :pray:ed that HT would firstly A) get the SW license, & B) do a Bespin Luke. They've achieved both, so I should be over the moon. Initially I was, but the more I look at the figure, the more I'm on the fence about it now.

The whole two figure thing - plus the kitchen sink, isn't really what I wanted either..

lets not forget that for some odd reason, Lucasfilm requires the sculpt to capture more the essence of the character, than the actor portraying the character.

why? most hot toys stuff is produced in MUCH higher numbers than sideshow pieces, even the exclusives.
not to mention the higher retail price.

I guess I just don't know that much about Hot Toys. That is cool, though, as I am moving a little closer toward ordering the figure. If the exclusive stays available long enough, I just may end up getting one despite the fact that swore off Hot Toys a couple of years ago.

I think the lack of an ES for recent exclusives, pre-order windows that last for 9 months and the fact that they just aren't increasing in value is a pretty good indicator that HT is setting their production based on orders, not offering a limited run.

Just look at the Shadow Predator and Batman figures; those were initially very limited runs and selling for crazy money. Then Sideshow has them on order for a solid week and the prices dropped like a rock.

I mean sure, but that's pure conjecture at this point. Pretty sure Batman sells well...the Predator not so much. Besides I don't think I care. But I do need to order this figure asap.

i am warming to this figure now. I've never been a fan of the original 3 star wars movies all though love episodes 1-2-3. But i can stomach the originals i dont hate them. So depending on how i feel when this is released i might get it.

i watched episodes 1-2-3-4-5-6 over the course of 2 days about 2 weeks ago and i got proper bored during 4-5-6.

That's because you are supposed to watch 4,5,6 first. The way they were meant to be watched.

Curious, how do you know this.

Logical speculation.

Consider the market size that Hot toys has, and add in the demand for their products, as well as How LONG it takes for their products to sell out, even on EXTREMELY anticipated releases.
Additionally, they NEVER say edition sizes. only that it's "limited edition"
to me, that speaks of edition sizes in the upper thousands, even possibly in some cases tens of thousands.

I suspect that their business model is very similar to the old sideshow inclusive concept.
They KEEP making them till the release date, and then stop.

Do I know this for a fact? no.

Am I confidant I'm correct?

Yes.
