I'd be tempted to get the medi/enterbay saber for bespin luke. I'd imagine it goes for a pretty penny though.

That is not a substantial enough improvement over the Hasbro let alone Sideshow to warrant $300. Plastic boots, really?

I can't believe how terrible that UU ANH Luke looks, especially for $300.00. The face looks awful. Not getting Hamill from that sculpt even a little. Makes me appreciate HT's efforts with Bespin Luke even more, looking at that sorry POS.

This figure makes me appreciate the non-bd luke bespin headsculpt more, even though I can't see Mark Hamill in it.

Can't imagine *anyone* that paid $300.00 for this monstrosity would part with the saber. Don't know if it'd be possible, but only way I could see to get it would be to convince Medi/Enterbay that one had bought the figure and gotten a defective saber, then get a replacement. Guessing it's not very likely.

Regardless, I do hope whenever SSC or whomever perfects the prop that they do allow us to buy it seperately for existing figures so that people are not put in the position of buying the newest iteration of a character just to get the prop.

I'm in a sort of a funny position with the HT non-BD Luke sculpt. I think we pretty much agree that the jaw is too wide and I think it does miss Hamill's youthful look in that movie (still, whatever our differences on HT, glad we agree in our dislike of the UU version!).

At the same time -- for me -- it does capture something about Hamill, maybe just the spirit of the character but out of the Luke's released so far it captures something more than the others by a wide margin. At the same time, if they could capture ESB Hamill the same way Hot Toys captured Christopher Reeve Superman, I'd be elated.

Have to say I really dislike the mouth-slightly-opened, vacant look on that SSC Luke. So many ANH Luke's make him look like a coked-up, '70s rock-star wannabe. None of them have come even close to capturing the innocence and energy of ANH Mark Hamill.

I have the UU Enterbay/ Medicom "monstrosity" as you call it. It is an awesome rendition, looks just like Hamil, and I'm not parting with the saber. Only paid $230.00 for it and if I could afford it I'd buy three more for ceremony, stormtrooper, and x-wing.

To me, they all look bad, but at least all the others were under $100 each. No number of light up lightsabers could make up for that UU abomination.

On rebelscum.com they have a review of the "Ultimate Luke Skywalker" and from the side, yeah I can kind of see Mark Hamill there, but from straight no, no way. The rest of the figure is OK really, even the boots don't bother me that much. But yeah, the price is quite overwhelming, it's Medicom. The saber is cool, but probably $100 bucks to anyone that has paid for this figure. You could switch out the head with the hot toys bespin Luke I suppose but I doubt it'll look right because Medicom has decided to go with an anime approach to just about everything they do.

I'm a little surpirsed the Hot Toys Luke doesn't have a light up feature on the saber, it's something they've included on many figures in the past.

I actually saw a vendor try to sell the UU Skywalker for $100 at WonderCon 2012. Didn't see anything wrong with it when I inspected it. Maybe cuz its not selling that well? I'd love to see someone try to sell a Hot Toys Luke DX in the future for that price. I'd snatch that in a heartbeat!

I'm shocked to see how bad all those Lukes look. Granted, the Yavin one always sucked but I remember the SS Tattooine Luke looking better. Actually makes the UU look better. Then there's Medi-Jedi Luke. It's really criminal what SS did with their paint apps on many of their human sculpts.

Even with the sculpt off, the HT will blow all these 'toys' away.

Agree. I really hate all sideshow heads. Jedi Luke sculpt is the closest but is two sizes too big. They aren't even in scale with each other. The UU is by far the best ANH sculpt to date. Obviously it's not saying much because of the competition but is a vast improvement.

If they could take the SS Jedi Luke sculpt and size it down it would be great.

Hot toys said that they wouldn't. Do a light up saber, as they couldn't get the light bright enough to create a good looking effect.
Sideshow claims to have figured out a way, and are including it with episode 1 obi wan.

Silver surfer painted the proto, and eluded to people not being happy with how they did it. I'm expecting the light to be in his arm, and the saber and hand and blade to all be one piece.

It's funny how great that Luke still looks, paints apps and all really hold up...and he was $49. Sideshow's great lost-leader.
