Waiting for this is tough. I keep trolling the for sale threads for something even though I can't afford it. Just got black spidey and already I need this one to hurry up. I'm addicted!

I know that but is better than not lit at all. Interested to see how it turns out.

Hot Toys has already gone on record that it will NOT light up due to them not being able to pass safety regulations and still make it bright enough. No light up saber. Not happening.

I had not heard anything about safety regulations... interesting. It looks like Sideshow will go for it with the Ep1 Obi Wan. I hope they can get it to work, but I'm not holding my breath.

Personally I would have liked to see them include to "ignited" sabers. One standard SS style and one light up even if its a weak light.

Oh well I have a custom light up saber for my Vader and I got an extra blue one for Luke here. So Im good

Is it normal for Toy Anxiety to have all the component pieces of an unreleased figure in stock (I'm assuming aside from the headsculpt, too lazy to check)? Or am I misinterpreting how stuff is listed on their site?

Thanks, bmarz... should've realized *hangs head*, but fact they have the pre-order stated as being 2nd quarter (as opposed to 4th) and the way they show specific numbers of each component as being in-stock kinda threw me. Don't think I've ever seen a website be so specific with numbers on a pre-order but I see they're doing the same thing with the Terminator DX parts due for the end of this year, as well.

Word on the street is the sideshow obiwan with light up saber actually has the light in his arm, and the saber/hand holding it are one piece.
Think hot toys ironman.
Still not thrilled about it, but we will see.

If that's the way they are actually making obi wan then I will not be purchasing. I may change my mind after seeing it but that is highly unlikely.

If they could figure a way to do it where the aesthetics and scale of the lightsaber remain the same as the original ones, I'm fine with it, I suppose. However, installing lights in the figure's arm to light up the saber sounds like just another added expense for a feature that I'll never use.

Sounds cool to me, Ep.1 Obi is my grail figure and a light up saber will be an added bonus!
