I think the light up features on the iron man and classic predator figures are actually pretty cool.

I think it's alright, but I don't use the feature very much. Usually I check that the lights work and I never use it again. Battery leakage is something to worry about as well. It's actually probably a good idea to remove them from the figure.

Since none of the Jedi releases in the past have had light up sabers, it doesn't seem like something that's really necessary at this point. At least that's how I see it.

Yes that's a very good idea because if you don't the battery's could possibly leak or corrode and cause damage to the figure/base. I personally don't know how well a sideshow figure would stand up to battery acid but it will most likely melt.

Depends on the figure. The light-up base and head on IG-88 definitely adds to the character and I'm glad it's an option. Same with Iron Man and War Marchine, they just look better with lights, especially if you're someone that likes to take photos.

As far as battery leakage goes, I take them out for storage, but on display I find it hard to believe they're going to corrode unless one never ever uses the feature and even then, I've yet to see a thread in the Marvel section with anyone complaining about batteries bursting and leaking acid as a common occurance.

In Obi-Wan's case, I'd agree that I'd probably prefer not to have the light as the saber's going to be molded into Obi's hand and I prefer them to be discreet parts. That said, I'm not a PT collector, so it's not really a concern.

:exactly: Sometimes the light effects make for some of the best pics. Is it a necessity? Obviously not, but its a great part of the evolution of the hobby.

I don't think there is a need for light up lightsabers, just position your lights right in your display and I think you can get something that looks pretty good. No?

It would be cool, but the only lights I need are the ones I would use for my display in general. Light up stuff is cool, but since I rarely use the features it's just no necessary.

This is HT's first release pal not Sideshows

Doesn't matter. A lame feature is a lame feature, regardless of manufacturer.

Saves you some money then. If they can fit in the vane two Lukes and light up features for 299, and the price doesn't go up, I hope they keep announcing more things they're fitting in.

You better be including IG-88, Iron Man, War Machine, Cantina tables and the weather vane in that 1%, FLOSI, or there'll be trouble! *gets ready to flip table and rush FLOSI*
