the SST shipping charge would eat up the $30... besides, it is the principle of the thing.
... wow.. i had no idea hot toys was making an aston kutcher figure. So when do we get to see production pictures of Luke?
all teasing aside, i'd like to see more pictures.
Taken by someone else.
*sputters* More like Hamill? Personally, I really liked the proto clean sculpt. Yeah, it wasn't a perfect likeness of Hamill, but to me it had enough Hamill that it was a good representation of Luke. Both sculpts just look really distorted to me in these photos. And the clothes... went out for a bit and coming back and seeing the photos again with fresh eyes is really jarring (massive, sloppy pockets on the chest, sloppy stitching, cheap/rough fabric). Just nothing I'd have expected from Hot Toys. I'd have paid $400.00 gladly if what we got matched the prototype but if this is accurate, I'll have no problem eating the NRD. That way I can at least relax until it hits the LCS and not worry about shipping, duty, taxes, on top of the hassle of shipping it back to Sideshow.
All things being equal, at least you get to see it for yourself in hand first. That, and for people in the states, it won't be $30 to ship.
Haha, yeah, you might have a point but I thought it made for a nice Luke. Not sure if it's released yet in HK, to be honest.Yeah, I think it looks more like Hamill. Hamill wished he looked like the proto clean sculpt.
If that's all it is, then I'd risk it, unless OMG's photos remove all doubt about the sculpt and clothing. Either way you're going to lose $30.00, though, so you may as well see it in-hand. Expenses being what they are to ship to Canada and back, I'll be making my decision based off the best pics available and then possibly following-up once these hit my LCS.good point on seeing it yourself...
shipping will be at least $15 each way...
I love OMG's pics, but I'm not sure any of my figures look like the ones in his photos.
I want to see some plain in-hand stuff... and I want to see that lame-*** video where the guy opens the box in real time and takes out the figure.
Irony: HT was given the human likenesses because they are better at it than Sideshow.
Wow, it looks like someone wearing a cheap, plastic Luke Skywalker mask. The eyes look more sunken in than Indy's. Gracious, I hope it ends up looking better than those pictures. With the experience with Indy, however, I doubt it.
I know I'm not in the same boat as you guys, but I pre-order his trousers from TA and I am excited.
I love those "guy opens box" videos...turn the sound down, throw on some good stripper music, and the laughter just doesn't stop.
