"letting go" of a down payment when the item is not as advertised isn't an option... i did not put a down payment on what the current photos portray.

the SST shipping charge would eat up the $30... besides, it is the principle of the thing.

If anyone cancels this and sideshow agrees to refund the NRD, please let us know.

... wow.. i had no idea hot toys was making an aston kutcher figure. So when do we get to see production pictures of Luke?

all teasing aside, i'd like to see more pictures.
Taken by someone else.

The BD does have touch of the Beiber after a rough night from certain angles (I'm guessing the hair,) but these pics are not a killer for me.

Some angles looking better than others, the reg likeness not improved over the proto - this is a little like the HT Indy early days, but this release definitely feels more solid than that.

Eagerly awaiting more pics.

Other than the "soft" look am I the only one that thinks the regular sculpt has been changed? Looks more lean. I think it looks more like Hamill. :lol Pic are **** **** though. No doubt about it. PERS looks aweful but that was expected. Hoping for better pics soon.

*sputters* More like Hamill? Personally, I really liked the proto clean sculpt. Yeah, it wasn't a perfect likeness of Hamill, but to me it had enough Hamill that it was a good representation of Luke. Both sculpts just look really distorted to me in these photos. And the clothes... went out for a bit and coming back and seeing the photos again with fresh eyes is really jarring (massive, sloppy pockets on the chest, sloppy stitching, cheap/rough fabric). Just nothing I'd have expected from Hot Toys. I'd have paid $400.00 gladly if what we got matched the prototype but if this is accurate, I'll have no problem eating the NRD. That way I can at least relax until it hits the LCS and not worry about shipping, duty, taxes, on top of the hassle of shipping it back to Sideshow.

Yeah, I think it looks more like Hamill. Hamill wished he looked like the proto clean sculpt. :lol But yeah, the clothes are pretty bad. I didn't take much notice until it was mentioned. The fabric looks rough and cheap and the stitching is way out of scale. So is this released in HK at the moment?

All things being equal, at least you get to see it for yourself in hand first. That, and for people in the states, it won't be $30 to ship.

good point on seeing it yourself...

shipping will be at least $15 each way...

Haha, yeah, you might have a point but I thought it made for a nice Luke. Not sure if it's released yet in HK, to be honest.

If that's all it is, then I'd risk it, unless OMG's photos remove all doubt about the sculpt and clothing. Either way you're going to lose $30.00, though, so you may as well see it in-hand. Expenses being what they are to ship to Canada and back, I'll be making my decision based off the best pics available and then possibly following-up once these hit my LCS.

Woo-boy...is this how it's always going to be now? Early pictures showing the figure at it's "party'd all night, no sleep, didn't have time to put my face on the next morning" look? Which results in major wrist-slashing, rosary-clutching glee in here? Yee-haw!

Yeah, those shots are pretty bad...and this thread has turned into a five-alarm howler...

I love OMG's pics, but I'm not sure any of my figures look like the ones in his photos.

I want to see some plain in-hand stuff... and I want to see that lame-*** video where the guy opens the box in real time and takes out the figure.

Yeah, OMG makes figures look amazing, that's for sure...some in-hand stuff will help, and....I love those "guy opens box" videos...turn the sound down, throw on some good stripper music, and the laughter just doesn't stop. But one good thing in 'em...the figures are shown just as they are out of the box...warts n' all...

Irony: HT was given the human likenesses because they are better at it than Sideshow.

:lol

Yes, I am finding that pretty hilarious myself....

Wow, it looks like someone wearing a cheap, plastic Luke Skywalker mask. The eyes look more sunken in than Indy's. Gracious, I hope it ends up looking better than those pictures. With the experience with Indy, however, I doubt it.

Those shots don't do PERS or that figure any favors, for sure....

I know I'm not in the same boat as you guys, but I pre-order his trousers from TA and I am excited.

I don't want to be in that boat....but, um....have fun with those trousers there, bud...

Glad I said "no" to this one....

It's gonna be sad if Hot Toy's first major SW figure turns out to be an expensive dud...it'll tamp down any enthusiasm for any more from them , I'd think...

So it turns out the only thing better than the years old Sideshow figure is better paint and hair that isn't flat topped?

Hopefully just really warped, distorted shots. But if not. . .yeesh.
