To be honest when I saw his picture for the first time the other day I thought he looked a lot like you.
I can see that. Me chase and Rory could all be brothers I guess.
So nothing that really matters in terms of display, but just a general observation? Did it turn out as nice as the proto pics?

He looks great. The helmet being slightly smaller won't bother me in the slightest.
Glen's Vader/Luke head had details this doesn't have like the grill sticking out from his face mask. But on the whole I like this one better. It sits up and displays steadily (while Glen's tended to roll over if the table got bumped or anything), the paint job and sculpt on Luke are more appropriate (though the "duh" expression on Jedi Luke was PERFECT for this), and it had more heft but the helmet was stuck on with silly putty. HT's feels durable. The weathering on the dome is also better on the HT - especially considering it is mass produced.

Same here.
Not to rub it in... but I could not have even begun to consider passing on this exclusive. To me that scene is one of the most important in Star Wars and the accessory is almost a perfect summary of the struggle between Luke and Vader.
When I left the theater as a stunned 5 year old I had 3 things on my mind for a long time:
1) Luke got his hand chopped off by Vader
2) Han Solo was frozen in ice
3) Luke chopped off Vader's head and Luke's face was inside.
Those 3 things were the biggest impressions I had of ESB so passing on this head was impossible.

That makes sense... mass produced is usually going to feel a bit more stable than a custom, but a custom will have those bits not easily replicated. I always regretted not getting the head from Hurricane and then when you offered it, but I kind of felt like Sideshow would eventually release one so I didn't want to pay the custom price to own it.
The fact that Glen's was multi-media was awesome. The real metal spikes on Vader's helmet were awesome. Like I said, it had more heft to it then the HT version (which is lighter than I had imagined it would be).

Wonder if anyone has taken apart the HT head yet... I'd be curious how much of the inner head was sculpted and finished.
The Vader helmet still looks to have the best Luke portrait of the three from HT. Maybe its the expression, maybe its the partial hidden face, not sure but it really looks like Hamill circa 1980.

It was combination of the savings and the fact that I really needed to pay with paypal...maybe I'll try to pick one up down the road if it just eats at me.

Nope they are the same dome exactly. I got mine from the two pack as well. Still have the maul to prove it.
I wasn't trying to bring in a Nolan Batman reference, honest, but Vader there reminds me of Bale ninja at the League of Shadows. Luke does look like he's fly fishing.

You really can get a substantial savings if you don't want the Ex head. For me in California, its about a $60 difference. But I imagine as the months wear on one could save as much as $100 by NOT getting the Ex.
That said, and without knowing how many Ex's have been produced, I would think this will be HT's most heavily sought after Ex in the years to come.
