I'd guess closer to $300! The Hot Toys Jack Sparrow is $240! And Sideshow and Hot Toys have to share some of the wealth and I'd bet the Star Wars license is a little more than Disney's.

I'd say, all things considered. single figure, 229. if it has an extra body, 259.

unlike Jack, he's a little light on accessories, BUT he has everything he needs ( not taking the weather-vane into account) however, He's a licensed product ( from sideshow to hot toy) who's got the license from hasbro, who's licensed from Lucasfilm.

that's alot of people who need to get paid.

No wonder the edition sizes are so big. I just thought SS had to pay Lucas. Didn't even think about hasbro. Whatever happened to Kenner?

Kenner was purchased by Hasbro in 1991, and its toy lines were officially merged into the Hasbro name in 2000.

I really like this figure, like his look and accessories and its a huge improvement from SS Bespin Luke.

I just have some questions, do you all think that HT will continue to do a line of SW figures or is this a one time deal, like a promotion or just to prove that HT and SS are in bed with each other and get along.

Or do you think we will really be getting a line of SW figures? IMO HT isn't very good with lines unless its Batman, or Iron Man. Im just worried that they will do some, then fizzle out and stop all together like Watchmen, or make released so far apart it wont be worth it.

Maybe this is just me but I'm not getting my hopes too high for a HT line of SW figures... at least not at the capacity that SS did.

Also SS did say that they are creating a new Vader themselves after the first one did and currently does so well on Ebay

my guess is that Hot Toys will add the "salt and pepper" to SST's Star Wars line. i would expect them to revisit iconic characters / costumes SST has already attempted allowing SST to forge ahead with the massive cast yet left to explore.

I like the piece but man, those pockets on his jacket are WAY too high. They really need to fix that...

Yeah I agree - it stands out like a sore thumb. Also as I may have mentioned earlier, it's as if the tailoring on the suit is reversed - i.e; the jacket is tight fitting & the pants & boots are loose fitting. It should be more the other way around..

Please tweak the suit HT!!!

Nice, clean cut by Vader...I mean Dad.

I wonder why they chose to go with Bespin Luke. I'd love a DX Jedi Luke. Is the Bespin version of Luke high on everyone else's list?

perhpas they went with the Bespin Luke as they had a unique take on it... i am all over their "wind blown dangling from the antenna" mode... bravo.

He is on mine!!! :yess:

It's arguably his most iconic look in the trilogy - being that TESB was the most popular film of the three. He's a Jedi in training - the Yoda scenes, the Bespin scenes.. huge stuff. :monkey2 :clap

personally, i do not see it happening. why would SST want to hand over the "bread and butter" of the Star Wars line (Darth Vader) when they can simply have HT supplement it with already attempted characters? they have 3 other versions of Vader to attempt and possibly a few other EU ones... why invite competition?

having said this, i would frikin LOVE to see a Hot Toys Vader DX so i hope to hell that i am wrong.

Rumours abound of a DX ESB Vader to compliment Luke ...

Lol, really? I haven't heard any whispers about that. Last I heard, sideshow wanted to make a new version... And they hold the license. I just wish I can see a better picture of his lightsaber. I personally feel Sideshow's lightsabers are too thin, and limits their future ability to have light up features. That said... I think there should be a standardized blade size so Hot Toys and Sideshow figures won't look out of place together. But from what I can tell, it does look thicker...

I like the Bespin look most, but disagree about it being his most iconic look. That's gotta be the primary outfit from episode 4.

Sounds to me like wishful thinking, but even if Vader is made, why in the world would he need to be DX? Are people really that interested in seeing Hayden Christensen's eyes move when they take off the dome?

Yeah - true, his Tatooine outfit is equally as memorable - if not more.

I guess it also depends on what movies / scenes resonate the most with an individual / fan. Empire was a such a powerful film, & it took SW to another level at the time. Luke was no longer that awkward, apprehensive teenager from the first movie.. he was on his way, meant business & looked the part too. TESB really struck a chord with me - especially Luke's journey at that stage.

Still.. one of the most enduring scenes from any of the films, is when he's standing on the sand hill & staring at the twin suns. Aaaah - give us as many Lukes as you can do HT!!! :hi5: :lol
